Job Title: Team Manager – Admissions Location: Chandigarh University, Chennai, India Department: Admissions Reports to: Zonal Manager Job Summary: The Team Manager in the Admissions Department will be responsible for overseeing and managing the operations of the admissions team. This role involves ensuring the smooth functioning of all admission-related processes, providing leadership to the team, and ensuring the timely and accurate processing of student applications. The Team Manager will collaborate with other departments to support the university’s enrollment objectives and enhance the overall student admission experience. Key Responsibilities: Team Leadership & Management: Lead, supervise, and support a team of admission officers and staff, providing guidance, mentorship, and motivation to achieve admissions targets. Delegate responsibilities effectively, ensuring team members are clear on goals and deadlines. Organize and conduct regular meetings to track progress, review performance, and resolve issues. Ensure team members provide a high level of customer service to prospective students and parents. Admission Process Oversight: Oversee the end-to-end admissions process including application review, eligibility checks, documentation collection, and interview coordination. Ensure timely processing of applications and compliance with university policies and academic standards. Monitor the accuracy and quality of data entered into the university’s admission system. Target Achievement & Reporting: Ensure the team meets its admission targets in terms of application numbers, conversion rates, and enrollment figures. Prepare regular reports on team performance, admission trends, and statistics for management review. Provide data-driven insights and recommendations for improving conversion strategies. Collaboration & Coordination: Collaborate with other university departments (e.g., academic departments, student services, marketing) to align admission strategies with institutional goals. Coordinate with external agencies, counselors, and consultants to promote university programs and attract potential students. Develop and maintain strong relationships with schools, coaching centers, and other educational institutions to drive student leads. Customer Service & Support: Address any concerns or issues raised by applicants, parents, or other stakeholders regarding the admission process. Ensure clear, effective communication with applicants about admission requirements, deadlines, and processes. Provide training and support to team members to ensure a high level of professionalism and customer service. Compliance & Documentation: Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements related to admissions. Ensure all admission-related documentation is maintained accurately and confidentially. Assist in preparing documents for accreditation bodies and regulatory authorities as needed. Process Improvement & Innovation: Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance efficiency in the admission process. Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and innovative technologies that can streamline the admissions process. Introduce new strategies for improving applicant engagement and conversion. Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in any relevant field (Master’s or MBA preferred). Proven experience in managing or leading an admissions team, preferably in higher education or a related field. Strong knowledge of the admissions process and understanding of university-level academic programs. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Strong organizational and time-management abilities. Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities. Problem-solving skills and ability to handle customer queries effectively. Proficient in using admission management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant tools. Key Attributes: Leadership qualities with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team. Strong decision-making and critical thinking abilities. Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality in admissions processes. High level of professionalism, integrity, and a customer-first approach.
