Job Title : Mainframe Developer Exp: 5+ years Location: Pune Notice Period: 0-15 days / serving Salary : As per Market Mode : Contract to Hire Mainframe Developer – Banking Domain Key Responsibilities Design, code, test, debug, document, implement, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM Analyze business and technical requirements; prepare high- and low-level technical documentation Optimize system performance and resolve batch/online processing issues Handle batch scheduling with tools like TWS/CA‑7 and integrate using WebSphere MQ, APIs, etc. Collaborate with business analysts, QA, operations, and cross-functional teams; support UAT and production post‑implementations . Mentor junior developers, conduct code reviews, and manage system maintenance and incident management. Required Technical Skills COBOL , JCL , CICS (including Plex/MRO), VSAM (KSDS, ESDS, RRDS), DB2 , IMS/DC optionally. Mainframe tools/utilities: TSO/ISPF, File-AID, Abend-AID, IBM utilities (IEBGENER, SORT, IDCAMS), Syncsort, Easytrieve. Batch scheduling & job control: TWS, CA-7, Connect:Direct/NDM Messaging/integration: WebSphere MQ, APIs (JSON/REST/SOAP via z/OS Connect) Security: RACF or equivalent mainframe security framework Development & deployment: DevOps/CI-CD pipelines (Bitbucket/Git, Changeman, Endevor, Xpediter) . Desired Domain Experience: Banking/financial services expertise, particularly trade finance, payments, credit/debit card processing Preferred familiarity with FIS Systematics platforms (ALS, IMPACS, RM, ST) Knowledge of application modernization, e.g., integration with Java, REST APIs, z/OS Connect Experience & Qualifications: 5–10 years of proven mainframe development experience. Strong academic background (typically ≥70% through schooling and degree) Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills . Comfortable in Agile/DevOps/Waterfall environments . Prior exposure to batch support, on-call duties, production issue handling a plus
