Job Title: Machine Shop Supervisor
Department: Production / Maintenance – Gas Manufacturing Industry
Location: BHOOTPADA, Vasai East
Experience: 2 – 4 Years
Pay Range: ₹ 20,000 to 25,000 per month
Job Summary:
The Machine Shop Supervisor will oversee day-to-day operations of the machine shop within the gas manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for planning, scheduling, and supervising machining activities, ensuring adherence to safety standards, maintaining equipment, and achieving production targets with optimal resource utilization.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision & Team Management
Lead, train, and supervise machinists, operators, and technicians.
Allocate daily work assignments and monitor productivity.
Ensure discipline, adherence to company policies, and teamwork within the shop floor.
Production & Operations
Plan, schedule, and oversee machining operations (turning, milling, drilling, grinding, etc.).
Ensure machine components for gas manufacturing equipment are produced as per design, quality, and timelines.
Minimize downtime by effective preventive and predictive maintenance coordination.
Manage tooling, fixtures, and raw material availability.
Quality & Compliance
Ensure components meet specifications, tolerances, and quality standards.
Implement and maintain ISO / ASME / industry-specific compliance.
Conduct inspections and resolve machining or quality issues promptly.
Safety & Maintenance
Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols in handling heavy machinery.
Maintain 5S standards in the machine shop.
Coordinate with maintenance teams for machine calibration, servicing, and repairs.
Reporting & Documentation
Maintain daily production logs, machine utilization reports, and downtime analysis.
Provide regular updates to management on production performance, challenges, and improvements.
Assist in budgeting, cost control, and process improvement initiatives.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of machining processes (TRAUB, CNC, VMC, lathe, milling, drilling, etc.).
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Leadership and team management skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability.
Excellent knowledge of safety standards in a manufacturing environment.
Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement.
Qualification & Experience:
Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Production Engineering or equivalent.
2–4 years of experience in a machine shop, preferably in a gas or heavy manufacturing industry.
Prior supervisory experience in machining operations is mandatory.
