Maintenance Engineer

Job Summary: Responsible for the preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance of machines, equipment, and utility systems used in the gas industry. Ensures all machinery operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. Key Responsibilities: Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on compressors, pumps, valves, pipelines, pressure vessels, and gas-handling equipment. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and rotating equipment breakdowns. Conduct regular inspections to detect wear, leaks, vibration, or performance issues. Maintain and calibrate safety devices, gauges, and instrumentation associated with gas processing machinery. Ensure compliance with safety standards, including hazardous area protocols. Prepare and maintain maintenance logs, checklists, and machine history records. Coordinate with operations team to schedule downtime for planned maintenance. Assist in installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment and machinery. Ensure availability of spare parts and consumables for critical equipment. Support continuous improvement and energy efficiency initiatives. Required Skills & Competencies: Strong knowledge of gas industry machinery (compressors, pumps, turbines, valves). Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, equipment manuals. Hands-on experience with predictive tools (vibration analysis, thermography, ultrasonic testing). Familiarity with safety systems (fire & gas detection). Problem-solving and root cause analysis skills. Qualifications & Experience: Diploma/Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field. 3–7 years of experience in machine/equipment maintenance, preferably in gas, oil & energy industry. Knowledge of industrial safety standards. Certification in maintenance/reliability (preferred but not mandatory). Work Environment: Plant/field-based role with exposure to hazardous gases, rotating machinery, and high-pressure systems. Requires use of PPE and adherence to strict safety protocols. May involve shift duties and emergency call-outs.
