Job Description

  • Shipment Coordination: Assist in coordinating and monitoring inbound and outbound shipments, including scheduling pickups and deliveries with carriers and freight forwarders.
  • Documentation and Record Keeping: Prepare and process essential shipping documents, such as bills of lading, packing lists, and customs forms, and maintain accurate records of shipments, inventory levels, and order processing activities.
  • Inventory Management: Support inventory control activities, including receiving, stocking, organizing products, conducting regular stock counts, and updating inventory databases to ensure accuracy.
  • Communication & Issue Resolution: Serve as a point of contact to communicate with suppliers, vendors, internal teams (e.g., warehouse, procurement, sales), and customers to provide updates and resolve any discrepancies, delays, or issues related to shipments.
  • Data Entry and Reporting: Perform accurate data entry into logistics management software (TMS, WMS, ERP systems) and prepare reports on logistics metrics, fuel consumption, and inventory status for management review.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all logistics operations comply with company policies, safety protocols, and relevant transportation regulations.
  • Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the logistics department, such as collecting invoices, managing files, and scheduling meetings.
  • Required Skills & Qualifications Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required, with some employers preferring an Associate's degree or vocational training in logistics or supply chain management.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a logistics, supply chain, or warehouse environment is often preferred, though entry-level candidates are also considered.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel for data management), experience with logistics software or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and strong data entry skills are essential.
  • Soft Skills: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills. Problem-solving abilities and resourcefulness in handling unforeseen issues.
  • Time management and the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Adaptability and a proactive mindset.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Physical Requirements: May require the ability to lift and move items (up to 50 lbs) and stand or walk for extended periods in a warehouse setting.
