Role Overview
We’re looking for a Lead QA Engineer with strong expertise in manual testing, especially in API testing, who can help ensure the stability and reliability of our trading platforms. This role will involve testing complex financial systems, backend services, and APIs that power everything from order execution to portfolio management.
You'll lead hands-on QA efforts while working closely with cross-functional teams in product, engineering, and business, ensuring a smooth and error-free experience for thousands of daily users.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the manual QA strategy for backend APIs, trading systems, and web/mobile interfaces.
- Create, execute, and maintain detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test cases.
- Drive API testing efforts using tools like Postman, Swagger, or similar.
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure thorough test coverage.
- Perform regression, integration, sanity, smoke, and UAT testing.
- Identify, log, and track bugs using tools like JIRA, and work closely with developers for resolution.
- Validate real-time data scenarios, trading flows, risk checks, and transactional integrity.
- Ensure high-quality releases through solid documentation and sign-off processes.
- Mentor and guide junior QA members in best practices and structured testing approaches.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 8+ years of overall experience in software QA, with strong manual testing expertise.
- Minimum 3+ years of hands-on API testing experience using Postman, Swagger, or similar tools.
- Deep understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and defect life cycles.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, especially in complex transactional systems.
- Familiarity with financial markets, stock trading, equity, mutual funds, or similar domains.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, in-office environment.
- Experience testing trading systems, order management, portfolio analysis, or similar fintech products.
- Exposure to NSE/BSE, IPOs, derivatives, or margin trading workflows.
- Interest in the stock market—either as a trader or a market enthusiast.
Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Skills
- Experience working in a product-based or fintech company.
- ISTQB or equivalent certification
