Land Acquisition Manager

This position requires strong negotiation skills, a deep understanding of land laws and permitting processes, and a passion for advancing renewable energy initiatives.

Location

Key Responsibilities

• Land Identification & Evaluation

• Identify suitable land parcels for renewable energy projects through mapping, surveys, and feasibility studies.
• Conduct site evaluations considering grid proximity, resource availability, environmental constraints, and legal aspects.
• Collaborate with technical and project development teams to validate site suitability.

• Negotiation & Acquisition

• Lead negotiations with landowners, farmers, and community stakeholders for lease, purchase, or right-of-way agreements.
• Draft, review, and manage land acquisition contracts, MoUs, and agreements.
• Ensure fair compensation practices and build trust with stakeholders.

• Regulatory & Legal Compliance

• Ensure compliance with land laws, zoning regulations, environmental standards, and permitting requirements.
• Work closely with legal teams, consultants, and government authorities for approvals and clearances.
• Manage risks related to land disputes, title verifications, and due diligence.

• Stakeholder Engagement

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with landowners, community leaders, and government officials.
• Conduct community engagement meetings to build support for renewable energy projects.
• Act as the liaison between project teams and local stakeholders.

• Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain accurate records of land acquisition processes, agreements, and compliance documents.
• Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on acquisition progress and challenges.
• Support financial and project development teams with land-related data and insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Law, Business Administration, Land Management, or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in land acquisition, with at least 3+ years in renewable energy or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of land laws, property valuation, and regulatory processes.
• Proven negotiation and contract management skills.
• Ability to navigate government processes, permitting, and land registration systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with diverse stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel frequently to project sites and remote locations.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in renewable energy project development (solar/wind).
• Familiarity with GIS mapping tools and land assessment software.
• Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
• Multilingual abilities (regional languages) to engage with local stakeholders.
