Job Description

Position Title: Lab Operations Head
Department: Laboratory Administration / Operations
Reporting To: Directors / CEO

Role Overview

The Lab Operations Head is responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning of day-to-day laboratory operations, including workflow management, manpower, logistics, customer coordination, and cost efficiency. The role bridges technical and administrative functions to ensure operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee all daily lab operations across departments or branches.
Manage staffing, scheduling, and workload distribution for optimal productivity.
Ensure timely processing, reporting, and dispatch of lab results.
Coordinate between phlebotomy, logistics, technical, and customer service teams.
Monitor inventory, procurement, and maintenance of instruments and consumables.
Track Turnaround Time (TAT) and performance metrics for operational improvement.
Implement process improvements for efficiency and cost control.
Handle vendor relationships and service contracts for lab equipment.
Support compliance with quality and safety protocols (in coordination with QA).
Prepare operational reports and performance summaries for management.

Qualifications

Graduate / Postgraduate in Life Sciences, Medical Lab Technology, or Healthcare Management
MBA (Operations / Healthcare) preferred
5–10 years of experience in diagnostic laboratory operations or healthcare administration

Key Skills

Excellent people and process management skills
Strong coordination and communication ability
Analytical and problem-solving mindset
Proficiency with LIS, inventory, and workflow management systems

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From ₹30,000.00 per month
