Junior Application Manager

A Junior Application Manager will be responsible for overseeing development, production support, and maintenance activities across multiple applications within a Delivery Team. Reporting to the Application Manager, the Junior Application Manager will hold operational and administrative duties for developers and will also oversee the day-to-day operations of matrixed resources (such as Analysts, Project Managers, and others) supporting their application suite.


What you’ll be DOING

What will your essential responsibilities include?

  • Monitors SLA / KPI alignment across the full SDLC for each SOW / SLA.
  • Maintain positive relationships with suppliers in pursuit of the company’s best interests.
  • Estimate work requests at various levels of confidence and manage estimates against actuals to ensure change controls are appropriately managed.
  • Manage risk to deliver on service level commitments and project milestones.
  • Serve as a point of contact for risks and issues.
  • Raise and manage problem tickets.
  • Work with business and information security to identify security risks and find solutions, including risk acceptance.
  • Overseeing daily operations, including planning, scheduling, prioritization, and reporting. Facilitating meetings to support team coordination.
  • Analyzing and eliciting requirements to ensure alignment with product design and architectural standards.
  • Conducting business analysis tasks such as requirements evaluation, process mapping, process enhancements, and modeling.
  • Collaborating with business stakeholders and information security teams to identify security risks, develop mitigation strategies, and support risk acceptance processes, including RAMP stewardship.
  • Supporting internal and external audits to ensure services are delivered in a controlled manner, minimizing undue risk to the organization.
  • Managing service levels to ensure all commitments are met, proactively addressing variances to minimize impact on cost, schedule, and quality aligned with business objectives.
  • Working closely with Technical and Solution Architects to define, analyze, plan, measure, and improve product availability and continuity.
  • Identifying and advocating for continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Monitoring SLA/KPI performance across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for each Statement of Work (SOW) and SLA.
  • Maintaining positive relationships with suppliers to serve the best interests of the company.
  • Estimating work requests with varying degrees of confidence and tracking estimates against actuals, ensuring change controls are followed.
  • Managing risks to meet SLA and project milestones.
  • Acting as a primary point of contact for risks and issues, raising and managing problem tickets as needed.
  • Collaborating with business and security teams to identify security risks and develop appropriate solutions, including risk acceptance.
You will report to the Delivery Lead or a Senior Application Manager.

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Outstanding communication skills, especially when conveying key application-related information to stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in stakeholder engagement and management.
  • Proficiency with various application delivery methodologies, including Agile, iterative, and Waterfall approaches.
  • Experience ensuring outsourced work on applications within the group is conducted under fully vetted contracts that comply with Procurement, Security, and Legal standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement solutions that meet the company's security requirements.
  • Strong risk and issue management skills, with the ability to proactively identify, assess, and address potential challenges.

Desired Skills and Abilities:
  • Agile Scrum certification.
  • PRINCE2 certification.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience in cloud computing environments.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, including creating work schedules, prioritizing tasks, preparing proactively, and setting realistic deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple workstreams simultaneously (2 or more).
  • Adaptable to new strategies, technologies, and cultures.
  • Experience working in the financial industry or another heavily regulated industry.
  • Lloyds Market knowledge and understanding is an advantage.
