Role Overview
Senior Project Manager / Program Manager to lead strategic, large-scale IT programs in the custody, banking, and financial services sector. This role requires a proven leader who can manage multiple projects simultaneously, align initiatives with organizational objectives, and drive successful outcomes in highly regulated environments. The ideal candidate will bring a strong blend of strategic vision, stakeholder influence, governance expertise, and hands-on delivery leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee multiple concurrent projects as part of a larger program, ensuring strategic alignment and business value delivery
- Develop program roadmaps, governance frameworks, and reporting structures to ensure visibility and accountability across initiatives
- Partner with senior leadership to define program objectives, scope, KPIs, and success criteria
- Manage large budgets, resource allocations, and vendor contracts and ensuring cost optimization
- Act as the primary escalation point for project managers and stakeholders, ensuring timely resolution of critical issues and risks
- Ensure regulatory and compliance adherence across projects within the program
- Drive adoption of Agile delivery model, ensuring best practices are embedded in project execution
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and coaching to project managers and team members
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives and foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and high performance
Requirements
- 13+ years of IT experience, with 8+ years in project/program management within banking, or financial services
- Demonstrated success in leading multi-million-dollar IT programs and managing multiple, complex, cross-functional projects simultaneously
- Proven ability to influence and engage senior executives and stakeholders at all levels
- Strong leadership in program governance, portfolio management, and strategic alignment
- Expertise in budgeting, financial tracking, and vendor management for large-scale programs
- Advanced knowledge of project management tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Confluence) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills with experience in executive reporting
- Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP)/PRINCE2/Agile/Scrum/SAFe certifications are highly desirable
Nice to Have
- Experience leading enterprise-level digital transformation, cloud migration, or automation programs
- Familiarity with emerging technologies (AI, data analytics) in financial services
- Experience managing distributed, global teams across time zones
