Description
Position Summary We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented QA Lead to lead the quality assurance function for our cutting-edge Android and Linux-based embedded and consumer electronic products. As the QA Lead, you will be responsible for leading a team of QA engineers, building robust automation frameworks, and ensuring the highest standards of software and hardware quality. This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of test methodologies, and hands-on expertise in automation Responsibilities : Lead and manage a QA team including hiring, mentoring, performance reviews, and career development. Provide technical guidance and foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment. Define clear objectives and KPIs for QA engineers and ensure alignment with product goals. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including development, product, DevOps, and customer support. Define and implement QA processes, standards, and best practices across projects. Develop and maintain a comprehensive test strategy including functional, integration, system, regression, and performance testing. Ensure thorough test coverage for both frontend (UI) and backend (API) components. Prioritize test plans based on risk assessment, release schedules, and product requirements. Design, build, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks from scratch for both backend (RESTful APIs) and frontend layers. Automate regression suites and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines. Ensure high reusability, reliability, and maintainability of test code. Lead QA efforts for Android and Linux-based devices, embedded systems, and consumer electronics. Plan and execute manual and automated testing on hardware products and firmware builds. Collaborate with hardware engineers to understand device-level interfaces, performance issues, and interoperability. Define and manage the QA toolchain, including test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Appium), defect tracking (e.g., Jira), and test management platforms (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr). Drive improvements in QA infrastructure and ensure smooth integration with DevOps and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git, Docker). Track QA metrics (e.g., test coverage, defect density, automation pass rates) and report on test progress, risks, and outcomes. Facilitate clear communication with developers, product managers, and leadership on test status and issues. Ensure documentation of test plans, test cases, and test results is complete and up to Skills & Experience Skills : 7+ years of experience in QA, with 2+ years in a lead or managerial role. Proven experience testing Android and Linux-based embedded systems and mobile consumer electronics. Strong experience in test automation frameworks, preferably using Java, Selenium, Appium, or similar tools. Solid understanding of API testing and backend automation using tools like Postman, REST Assured, or similar. Experience with scripting languages (Python, Shell) is a plus.
