Job Title: Head – Sales and Business Development Department: Sales Location: Mumbai Reports To: CEO / Managing Director / Chief Business Officer Industry: Financial Services / Lending / NBFC / Fintech Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to head our Sales and Business Development function. The ideal candidate will drive growth in loan origination across various loan products, establish strong channel partnerships, and lead a high-performing sales team. This role demands deep market understanding, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record in the lending/loan industry. Key Responsibilities: Sales Leadership: Define and execute sales strategies to achieve loan disbursement and revenue targets. Lead and manage regional and national sales teams, ensuring performance against KPIs. Drive lead generation, loan origination, and client acquisition across all loan products. Develop and manage scalable outbound and inbound sales processes. Business Development: Identify and build strategic partnerships with DSA (Direct Selling Agents), channel partners, fintechs, aggregators, and other institutions. Explore and implement new business opportunities and market expansion initiatives. Build alliances to offer co-lending, embedded finance, and digital lending solutions. Market Strategy & Product Alignment: Analyse market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to align product offerings. Work with product and risk teams to develop customized loan products. Drive digital transformation in customer acquisition, onboarding, and loan servicing. Team Building & Performance Management: Recruit, train, and develop high-performing sales and BD teams. Set performance metrics and lead regular reviews to drive accountability and improvement. Foster a high-energy, results-driven sales culture. Financial & Operational Oversight: Own and manage sales budget, forecasts, and reporting. Ensure compliance with lending regulations, KYC norms, and internal risk guidelines. Coordinate with credit, operations, and legal teams to ensure seamless disbursement cycles. Key Requirements: Experience: 10–15+ years of experience in Sales/Business Development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in the loan or NBFC/fintech industry. Proven experience in retail or SME loan segments (personal, business, home, vehicle, etc.). Experience in setting up and scaling large sales/distribution teams and partner networks. Skills & Competencies: Strategic thinker with strong business acumen. Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills. Strong analytical skills; ability to leverage data to drive decisions. Familiarity with digital lending, CRM systems, and loan management software. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field (MBA preferred). Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Monthly/Quarterly loan disbursement targets. Customer acquisition and retention metrics. Cost of acquisition (COA) and revenue per loan. Partner/channel contribution to overall business. TAT (Turnaround Time) for loan processing and closures. Preferred Background: Prior experience in NBFCs, financial advisory, DSA, banks, fintech lending companies, or loan aggregators.
