Head - Finance & Accounts

A Head of Finance & Accounts is responsible for a company's overall financial health, including strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Key duties include overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing the finance team, and providing financial advice to senior management. The role requires strong analytical, strategic, and leadership skills to manage financial performance and drive profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Financial strategy and planning: Develop and implement financial strategies, oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management, and provide financial guidance for business expansion.
• Financial reporting and analysis: Ensure accurate and timely production of financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders, and analyze financial data to identify opportunities for cost reduction and improved performance.
• Accounting operations: Oversee day-to-day accounting functions, manage month-end and year-end closing processes, and ensure all financial records are organized and accurate.
• Compliance and risk management: Ensure adherence to all financial laws, regulations, and accounting principles. Manage tax audits, assessments, and relationships with auditors.
• Team leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity.
• Stakeholder management: Manage relationships with banks, external auditors, and other external financial stakeholders.
• Recommending cost reduction strategies.
• System management: Oversee the implementation and utilization of finance-related software and ERP systems.

Key qualifications

• Education: A bachelor's or master's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
• Certifications: Professional certifications like Chartered Accountant - CA are often highly desirable.
