Job Summary


Head Accountant


Key Responsibilities


Financial Management & Accounting
  • Oversee end-to-end accounting operations including books of accounts, finalization, and reporting
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial data across all stores and business units
  • Handle P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow statements, and MIS reports


Taxation & Compliance
  • Manage GST compliance including returns, reconciliations, and audits
  • Handle TDS, Income Tax, and other statutory compliances
  • Coordinate with auditors, consultants, and tax authorities
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and internal policies


Retail & Inventory Accounting
  • Monitor inventory accounting, stock reconciliation, and valuation
  • Handle multi-store accounting and inter-branch transactions
  • Analyze margins, shrinkage, and store-wise profitability
  • Work closely with operations and procurement teams


Team Leadership
  • Lead and mentor the accounting team
  • Assign tasks, review work, and ensure deadlines are met
  • Improve accounting processes and internal controls


Strategic Support
  • Support management in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
  • Provide financial insights to support business decisions
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements


Required Skills & Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards and taxation laws
  • Hands-on experience with retail/FMCG accounting
  • Expertise in GST, audits, and statutory compliance
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Tally, ERP systems) and MS Excel
  • Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple stores and high-volume transactions


Preferred Candidate Profile
  • Chartered Accountant (CA)

    OR

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in FMCG or Mobile Retail Chain
  • Experience managing accounts for multi-location retail businesses
