The impact you’ll make
Oversees activities related to the purchase of material, material control, inventory control, shipping/receiving and stores functions. Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures and material control systems. Ensures materials are ordered and in stock to meet company requirements, while maintaining acceptable inventory levels. Develops material schedules and coordinates the efficient movement of materials with purchasing, production and engineering. Reviews and plans requirements for purchasing materials. May prepare material requirement plans using enterprise resource planning systems. May assist with the establishment and maintenance of the production control system. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
What You’ll Do
- Lead a team of central customer planners
- Strong Data Analytics Skills to source and extract data from information systems for effective decision making
- Should drive planning strategies to meet Customer Service level commitments and support business continuity
- Monitor and Shift the service/inventory exchange curve with optimal demand/supply planning.
- Reduce the time to match demand and supply.
- Collaborate more closely with customers and suppliers and internal partners to rapidly share information, irrespective of time zones.
- Use appropriate process controls, leading indicators and measurement systems to drive action.
- Seek to eliminate waste in processes and then automate those processes.
- Collaborate on Process improvements within 4 key areas: Customer interface, Planning Execution, Network Design, Supplier Interface.
- Effectively Manage Part Transitions
- Effective Material Shortage Management and Optimal Inventory Management during Peaks/Valleys of Business cycle
- Develop synergy with various departments and promote effective co-ordination with the team members
- Report & present weekly, monthly and quarterly reports, including KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) and Operational Metrics
- Supports Annual Operating Plan initiatives for customer planning and is actively involved in continuous improvement efforts.
- Recruit, assimilate, coach new planning members in accordance with LAM guidelines & policies
Who We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’ s degree in Engineering with MBA/PGDM (Supply Chain/ Lean Operations) with 12 to 15 years of experience (minimum 5 to 8 years of supervisory experience in the areas related to Operations, Service Parts Planning, demand planning, Forecasting, inventory Management, New Product Planning & Customer Escalations handling in Planning Operations)
- Effective team handling and people management experience with coaching and mentoring skills
- Experience on Service Parts Management (SPM) Tool or any other planning tools preferred
- Strong analytical, problem solving and system skills
- Candidate should have strong interpersonal skills and work under minimal supervision to drive projects
- High energy, strong work ethic, adaptive, able to meet tight deadlines
- Proven ability and skill set to analyze, document and improve business processes with sustained results
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to communicate cross-functionally
- Knowledge of Planning, Inventory management, Customer Management and Lean operations techniques
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in aftermarket Spares Operations or Automotive or e-commerce or Consulting practice
- Exposure to Qlik sense, SAP, SPM, PowerApps’s, Power BI will be preferred
- Lean management experience is mandatory. Green Belt Certification preferred.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
