About The Role
We are seeking a
General Manager
to oversee
Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Project Delivery
for a fast-growing real estate development company in
Uganda
that specializes in
affordable condominiums
for middle- and low-income families.This is a strategic leadership role ideal for someone who can drive end-to-end project execution — from
land acquisition to customer handover
— while ensuring quality, affordability, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership & Business Growth
- Define and execute long-term business strategies and project pipeline development.
- Identify and acquire land, conduct feasibility studies, and secure regulatory approvals.
- Build partnerships with investors, government bodies, and development agencies.
- Project Management & Construction Oversight
- Manage project planning, design, procurement, and construction workflows.
- Ensure all projects are completed within time, budget, and quality parameters.
- Implement project management systems and compliance frameworks.
- Sales & Marketing Leadership
- Lead sales and marketing initiatives to increase visibility and revenue.
- Develop pricing strategies, flexible payment plans, and mortgage partnerships.
- Oversee promotional activities, market research, and customer engagement.
- Customer Experience & After-Sales
- Implement CRM systems for client management, documentation, and collections.
- Oversee title registration, homeowners’ associations, and after-sales service.
- Drive customer satisfaction programs (target NPS ≥ 85%).
- Financial & Performance Management
- Oversee company P&L, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Manage DSCR compliance and banking/funding relationships.
- Present business performance reports to the CEO and Board.
- Compliance & Governance
- Ensure adherence to Uganda’s housing and real estate regulatory framework.
- Lead risk management, due diligence, and safety initiatives.
- People & Organizational Leadership
- Lead cross-functional teams across Projects, Sales, Finance, CRM, and Procurement.
- Build a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct training programs to strengthen internal capabilities.
- Sustainability & ESG Focus
- Promote eco-friendly design and green building practices (solar, rainwater harvesting, energy efficiency).
- Align development practices with UN SDG 11: Sustainable Cities & Communities.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Project delivery within time and budget
- Sales absorption and collection efficiency
- Gross margin per project and DSCR compliance
- Title registration rate and customer satisfaction
- Sustainability metrics (energy/water efficiency, mortgage uptake)
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Real Estate, Construction, or related field (MBA preferred)
- Minimum 10 years of experience in real estate or affordable housing (with 5+ years in leadership)
- Proven expertise in financial management, operations, and Ugandan real estate laws
- Strong track record in end-to-end condominium or housing project delivery
