The Role


General Manager

gatekeeper for all systems and processes


Key Responsibilities


Operations & Delivery


  • Managing resourcing needs

    across all Bangalore-based teams (Design, Development, Studio) to ensure optimal utilisation, delivery quality, and capacity planning for Australian client work using teamwork.com 
  • Gatekeeper for all systems and processes

    , ensuring standardisation, efficiency, and compliance.


Functional Head Management


The General Manager acts as the direct operational link to the functional discipline heads in Bangalore, translating business goals into executable priorities and ensuring cross-functional alignment.

  • Operational Oversight:

    Functional heads across Design (UX/UI, Studio) and Development will

    report directly to you

    for all operational performance, resourcing, and process adherence.
  • Performance & Productivity:

    Run regular

    WIP (Work In Progress) meetings

    with discipline heads (e.g., Head of Creative Services, Development Lead) to review team productivity, capacity utilisation, and delivery quality metrics.
  • Capacity Planning:

    Work collaboratively with functional heads to forecast

    resourcing needs

    and manage talent acquisition based on project pipeline and skill gaps. You will ensure the right people are working on the right projects at the right time.
  • Process Compliance:

    Ensure all functional teams adhere strictly to agency systems, quality control standards, and project management workflows, serving as the

    gatekeeper for all processes

    .


HR & Culture Management


  • Manage HR and culture

    for the entire

    Indian business unit

    , fostering a positive, productive, and high-quality work environment.
  • Onboarding of new staff

    (e.g., developers, designers), ensuring a seamless, effective, and culturally aligned start.
  • Oversee performance management, professional development, and staff retention initiatives.


Commercial & Operational Support


  • Provide

    operational support to the Sydney-based account management team

    by offering real-time visibility into project status, capacity, and risk.
  • Review the agency's

    COGS (Cost of Goods Sold)

    and ensure alignment with the monthly sales revenue targets by checking data accuracy with the account management team.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the profitability of the India unit through operational and process optimisation.


A Day in the Life


As General Manager, you'll be focused on efficiency and performance:

  • Reviewing operational reports

    and the overnight design/development output, preparing for the day's priorities.
  • Running a

    WIP with functional heads

    to review performance, capacity, and flag any delivery risks to the Sydney team.
  • Deep-diving into the financial data—checking the

    COGS and sales revenue

    reports and ensuring all data is correct.
  • Mapping out the

    delivery schedule and resourcing

    for the upcoming week, coordinating capacity for Australian project needs.
  • Facilitating the

    onboarding process

    for a new team member, ensuring they are integrated smoothly.

Required Skills & Experience


  • 5+ years in a management role

    within a digital creative agency or a similar production-focused environment.
  • Proven expertise as a

    systems thinker

    with a track record of implementing and optimising agency systems and operational processes.
  • Demonstrated experience in

    HR and cultural management

    for a large team, ideally within a services company.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, with experience managing budgets,

    COGS

    , and resource utilisation.
  • Exposure to and comfortable providing operational support to

    Western markets

    and client-facing teams (i.e., Sydney-based account managers).
  • Expert communication in English

    (fluency in

    Tamil is also useful

    ).
  • Based in

    Bangalore

    or willing to relocate.
