Job Opportunity: General Manager – Contracts

Industry: Integrated Greenfield Steel Plant (Pellet, Gasification, DRI, SMS, Rolling Mill, Mines)

Role Purpose

Provide leadership and oversight for all contract management activities across Greta Energy’s upcoming greenfield integrated steel plant. Ensure governance, compliance, risk mitigation, and value creation through effective negotiation, drafting, and administration of EPC, O&M, mining, and service agreements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic contracting frameworks for projects, plant operations and mining activities, if any.
• Lead end-to-end contract lifecycle management (drafting, negotiation, execution, monitoring, and closure).
• Negotiate EPC, O&M, mining, and service contracts, ensuring clarity of scope, deliverables, timelines, and performance obligations.
• Oversee dispute resolution, claims management, and arbitration support.
• Ensure adherence to all legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
• Establish robust risk assessment and mitigation practices.
• Integrate ERP/contract management systems -SAP for efficiency and transparency.
• Mentor and develop a high-performing contracts management team.

Candidate Profile

• Education: BE/B.Tech (Mechanical/Electrical/Metallurgy), MBA/PGDM will be added advantage
• Experience: 15–20 years in commercial contracts management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within steel/engineering projects and capex procurement.
• Expertise: EPC contracts, mining agreements, O&M service contracts, claims & arbitration
• Skills: Strong Technical & commercial acumen, contract drafting, negotiation, ERP/contract management tools
• Soft Skills: Negotiation, stakeholder management, leadership, conflict resolution
