Essential skills and qualifications

• Education: A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field is typically the minimum requirement. An MBA or Master's in Finance can be advantageous for senior roles.
• Technical Skills:
• Financial Modeling: Strong command of Excel, including advanced functions, pivot tables, and potentially VBA, for building and manipulating financial models.
• Data Analysis: Proficiency in utilizing BI tools such as Tableau and Power BI, along with ERP systems like SAP or Oracle, to extract, analyze, and interpret large datasets.
• Accounting Knowledge: A solid understanding of accounting principles and the ability to interpret financial statements like balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Quantitative and Statistical Skills: Strong mathematical and statistical aptitude for tasks like regression analysis, trend analysis, and assessing financial risk.
• Financial Software Proficiency: Familiarity with financial software beyond spreadsheets, such as dedicated financial planning & analysis tools like Anaplan or Workday Adaptive Planning.
• Soft Skills:
• Analytical Thinking: Ability to evaluate complex financial information, identify patterns, and draw insightful conclusions.
