Finance Manager (D2C experience, immediate joiners)

Location: Sector 27, Gurugram (6 days work from office)

We’re Divine Hindu — a fast-scaling D2C spiritual & lifestyle brand. We need a practical, hands-on Finance Manager who’s done end-to-end finance in e-commerce / D2C (Shopify + marketplaces + logistics). This role owns month-end close, reconciliations, cashflow, GST & tax ops, vendor payouts and finance operations so the business can scale without finance bottlenecks — and will also support fundraising, investor due diligence, and finance inputs for high-impact growth decisions.

What you’ll own:

• Full month-end close: P&L, balance sheet, accruals, journal entries, variance analysis and leadership pack.
• Daily / weekly reconciliation: Shopify payouts, payment gateways, bank statements, Uni-commerce / ClickPost / Shiprocket / 3PL / marketplace settlements → reconcile to orders & bank deposits (incl. COD / BNPL/EMI settlement tracking).
• Cashflow & working capital: 13-week cashflow, burn & runway reporting, collections follow-up, vendor payout scheduling and cash optimisation.
• Inventory accounting & COGS: reconcile inventory ledger with warehouse counts, record COGS, shrinkage, returns and bundle/combo accounting.
• Billing & compliance: GST filings, TDS, TCS (if applicable), vendor invoice processing, statutory audit readiness and coordination with CA/audit firms.
• MIS & dashboards: build daily/weekly/monthly dashboards: sales, AOV, gross/net margin, refunds, cancellations, returns, marketplace SKUs, promo impact and ad-to-order attribution.
• Payables & payroll coordination: ensure timely vendor payments, reconcile salary liabilities with HR/Payroll and manage vendor credit terms.
• Process & control: design SOPs (refunds, credits, advances, petty cash), tighten reconciliation SLAs and implement internal controls for scale.
• Commercial & pricing finance: SKU margin analysis, promo/coupon economics, break-even CAC modeling, SKU-level profitability and pricing recommendations.
• Marketing & channel finance partnership: work closely with Growth to model campaign ROI, ROAS vs. MER tradeoffs and LTV:CAC for cohort decisions.
• Fundraising & investor readiness: prepare investor packs, build/maintain the finance data-room, own financial model updates, create fundraise-ready cashflows, prepare due-diligence deliverables and respond to investor/VC/DD queries.
• Ad hoc strategic projects: support special projects — marketplace launches, subscription models, new vertical P&L, vendor negotiations, banking/term-sheet inputs and investor / bank queries.

Must-have

• 4–8 years total finance experience with 2+ years in D2C / e-commerce or retail ops finance.
• Strong, hands-on reconciliation experience: Shopify payouts, payment gateway & bank reconciliation; marketplace & COD/BNPL settlement familiarity.
• Advanced Excel / Google Sheets (pivots, INDEX/MATCH, SUMIFS, scenario modelling) and ability to build management financial models.
• Good knowledge of GST, TDS, TCS and corporate tax basics; experience working with CA firms for monthly/quarterly compliance.
• Proven experience owning month-end close and delivering timely management information.
• Comfortable in a fast, ambiguous startup environment — able to design controls quickly and iterate.
• Immediate availability (join ≤15 days) or notice-free.

Nice-to-have / Preferred

• Fundraising & due diligence experience: participated in fundraises, prepared investor packs / financial model, managed data-room items, and answered DD queries.
• Experience with accounting platforms (Tally / QuickBooks / Xero / Zoho Books) and ERP/BI systems.
• Basic SQL or experience pulling data from BigQuery / Looker / Tableau for automated MIS.
• Prior startup / high-growth D2C experience (₹50–200 Cr GMV brands preferred).
• Experience with marketplace reconciliations, BNPL/EMI settlement flows, subscription billing & LTV modelling.
• Familiarity with investor / bank interactions, term-sheet basics and financial due-diligence workflows.
