Role Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Executive Assistant Human Resources Manager for a full-time, on-site role located in Chennai. The primary responsibilities include managing executive calendars, coordinating meetings, handling correspondence, and supporting HR functions such as recruitment, employee engagement, and compliance. The role also involves maintaining confidentiality, ensuring smooth workflow across departments, and assisting with administrative tasks as required.


Key Responsiibilites:

1. Talent Acquisition & Recruitment (40%)

  • Recruit for diverse roles across the departments
  • Maintain distinct employer branding for each firm while managing unified recruitment
  • Build talent pipelines for specialized legal and administrative roles
  • Handle end-to-end recruitment: sourcing, screening, interviewing, offer management, onboarding.


2. Training & Development (20%)

  • Coordinate and scale ongoing training programs for:
  • Technical legal training (trademark law, litigation procedures)
  • Soft skills and professional development
  • Track competency development across legal and commercial functions
  • Support knowledge-sharing initiatives and educational content creation
  • Maintain training documentation and effectiveness metrics


3. HR Operations & Compliance (20%)

  • Manage payroll processing, attendance, and leave management for 30+ employees
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, PF, ESI, Professional Tax, and other statutory requirements
  • Maintain HR documentation, employee files, and policy implementation
  • Handle employee relations, grievances, and conflict resolution
  • Coordinate HR processes across three office locations


4. Performance Management & Retention (10%)

  • Implement and manage performance appraisal systems
  • Support partnership track discussions and equity conversations (for Aran Law Firm)
  • Design and execute retention strategies for high-performing team members
  • Manage compensation structuring and incentive programs
  • Conduct exit interviews and analyze attrition patterns


5. Strategic HR Support (10%)

  • Assist in partnership transition planning for long-term associates
  • Contribute to organizational development and culture building
  • Support business development team management and metrics tracking
  • Participate in strategic HR planning aligned with firm growth objectives


Required Qualifications:

  • MBA/PGDM in Human Resources OR
  • Bachelor's degree with relevant HR certifications and proven experience


Experience:

  • 3-5 years in HR roles, preferably in:
  • Professional services (law firms, CA firms, consulting firms) OR
  • Service Industries with 25-50 employees managing both professional and sales teams OR
  • Startups with experience in scaling teams


Essential Skills:

  • Strong recruitment capabilities across diverse roles (legal, technical, sales)
  • Understanding of professional services dynamics and ethics
  • Multi-location team management experience
  • Familiarity with HR systems, payroll software, and compliance requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Process orientation and documentation discipline


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in legal sector or professional services
  • Knowledge of partnership/equity structures in professional firms
  • Experience managing business development or sales teams
  • Tamil language proficiency
