The ESG & DEI lead will be responsible for integrating sustainability, equity, and inclusivity into the organization’s core practices. The individual will craft, execute forward-looking ESG and DEI strategies that align with the company’s overarching vision, driving impact across operations, culture, and communities.
The person shall coordinate with factory units and work with cross-functional teams to embed sustainable practices, champion diversity, and enhance stakeholder value.
This position demands a visionary, capable of aligning global standards with organizational priorities, ensuring compliance, transparency, and measurable outcomes.
• Develop and implement impactful ESG strategies to drive sustainability, resource optimization, and emissions reduction across all functions.
• Lead Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) using the ISO 14040 and 14044, and GHG accounting using the GHG Protocol to support climate objectives.
• Integrate UN SDG principles into organizational strategies, ensuring measurable outcomes.
• Prepare Sustainability reports & BRSR reports.
• Ensure understanding and compliance with key regulations such as GRI, CSRD, GHG protocol, EUDR, EU Taxonomy, and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) along with adherence to international certifications and standards.
• Lead DEIB initiatives to foster an inclusive and equitable workplace culture.
• Collaborate with departments to integrate DEIB into policies, recruitment, and engagement strategies.
• Track and report DEIB metrics, ensuring alignment with ESG goals and industry standards.
• Lead initiatives to improve EcoVadis performance and sustainability ratings.
• Design and implement CSR initiatives that generate tangible social and environmental benefits. Work externally with partners to help create annual CSR plans to align with broader ESG objectives.
• Stay informed of global ESG regulatory developments, particularly in EU and US markets; devise ways to integrate them into Sigachi’s imperatives.
• Minimum 4 years in ESG implementation and its reporting, preferably in a chemical and/or pharmaceutical manufacturing setting.
• Hands on knowledge of ESG imperatives as well as strategic alignment of ESG and DEIB initiatives with business goals and cross-functional team leadership.
• Technical and operational expertise in ESG and DEI, ensuring global compliance, sustainability, and inclusivity with timely, impactful execution.
• Strong execution skills, managing multiple projects and delivering results on time.
• Effective communication skills, influencing stakeholders, and fostering an inclusive culture driving ESG & DEI initiatives through collaborative efforts.
• Ability to navigate regulatory changes and identify solutions to challenges swiftly.
• Proficiency and expertise in ESG frameworks, GHG Protocol, UN SDGs, EcoVadis, EPR, EUDR, CSRD, EU Taxonomy.
• Aligning strategies for integrating DEIB initiatives within the organization.
• Education qualification – Master’s, MBA or equivalent degree in Sustainability, Environmental Management, or related fields (preferably from Tier 1 or Tier 2 institutes). Bachelor’s degree holders with 3-10 years’ relevant experience in ESG will also be considered.
• Skilled in managing sustainability inquiries from customers and aligning organizational practices with market demands.
• Experienced in preparing sustainability reports, including BRSR, in line with domestic and global standards.
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and project management skills.
• Proven track record of integrity, results-driven execution, strategic thinking, and strong people and client leadership.
