Job Description

Equity Research Analyst — Cash & F&O

Company: Blue Square Infrastructure LLP

Location: Sector 75, Noida | Work Mode: On-site

Department: Investments / Research

Experience Level: Mid-level (3+ years)

About the Role

Our Company manages a significant pool of capital and is hiring an Equity Research Analyst to deepen our coverage of Indian equities and listed derivatives (futures and options). The ideal candidate blends rigorous fundamental analysis with practical derivatives knowledge, using LLM-enabled research workflows to move faster without compromising quality. You’ll support idea generation and portfolio construction, including the use of hedging as a core tool and the development of implementable strategies such as delta-neutral, trend-following, and mean-reversion approaches.

What You’ll Do

·        Conduct comprehensive fundamental research on companies and sectors; track earnings, guidance, regulatory and macro developments.

·        Build, maintain, and audit 3‑statement models; perform valuation using DCF, trading and transaction comps, and scenario/sensitivity analysis.

·        Apply LLM workflows to summarise transcripts/filings, extract KPIs, compare guidance, and draft research notes for faster iteration.

·        Develop clear investment theses with catalysts, downside risks, and valuation views tailored to Indian markets.

·        Collaborate with portfolio managers on position sizing, risk limits, and ongoing monitoring of holdings.

·        Use F&O knowledge to propose hedging overlays (e.g., protective puts, collars) aligned with mandate and risk budgets.

·        Design and document implementable strategies (delta‑neutral, trend‑following, mean‑reversion) and evaluate them using historical data.

·        Prepare crisp post‑earnings takeaways and refresh recommendations/models as new information becomes available.

·        Maintain an organised research repository with sources, assumptions, and decision logs for auditability.

Objectives of the Role

·        Deliver timely, decision‑grade research that materially improves portfolio outcomes.

·        Integrate hedging and derivatives thinking into coverage to manage drawdowns and volatility.

·        Continuously improve research speed and consistency with LLM‑assisted processes and strong documentation.

Your Tasks

·        Analyse financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow) to assess performance and quality of earnings.

·        Evaluate qualitative factors: management quality, governance, competitive position, industry structure, and regulatory context.

·        Translate theses into portfolio actions with entry/exit rationale, key risks, and risk‑reward framing.

·        Participate in management meetings, earnings calls, and industry events; produce high‑signal summaries under time constraints.

·        Present findings to investment committees; defend assumptions, sensitivities, and risk mitigants.

·        Provide timely updates to models/recommendations based on disclosures and market moves.

Required Skills & Qualifications

·        Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field.

·        At least 3 years of equity research or investment analysis experience in India.

·        Strong command of valuation methods (DCF, comparables), accounting (IFRS/Ind AS nuances), and market microstructure basics.

·        Hands‑on exposure to futures and options with a working understanding of payoffs, Greeks, and practical trade constructs.

·        Ability to propose and explain hedging overlays in plain language to non‑derivatives stakeholders.

·        Comfort using LLM tools to accelerate research (transcript/filing summaries, KPI extraction, first‑draft writing).

·        Advanced MS Excel and solid PowerPoint; familiarity with Bloomberg/Refinitiv, FactSet, or Capital IQ.

·        Clear written and verbal communication; crisp, structured presentations.

Preferred

·        CFA charterholder or in progress.

·        Experience documenting and evaluating strategies such as delta‑neutral, trend‑following, and mean‑reversion using historical data.

·        Basic data skills (e.g., Excel Power Query or introductory Python for data cleaning/back‑testing).

·        Familiarity with Indian research compliance norms and proper source/documentation practices.

Compensation & Benefits

·        Monthly salary: ₹40,000–₹50,000 (CTC; commensurate with experience and fit).

·        Performance‑linked incentives; learning allowance for relevant certifications (as applicable).

·        On‑site role with close interaction with PMs and senior leadership.
