About The Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Engineering Manager to lead and deliver complex software development and data integration initiatives. This role combines deep technical expertise with engineering leadership and is critical to the success of strategic, business-critical projects within the L&H Client Data Management team.You will be a key contributor involved in designing, architecting, and implementing next-generation data integration solutions and modernizing existing architectures in our Life & Health Reinsurance domain. This includes working with existing solutions, provisioning data to public cloud environments, and creating scalable and secure solutions that enhance operational efficiency and strategic insight. You will also play a key role in building a high-performing engineering team in Hyderabad, contributing to the long-term growth of our technological presence.Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineering leads, product owners, solution architects, platform engineers, and operations teams to translate complex business needs into scalable, production-ready software.
- Architect and design software solutions and integrations with other systems in the existing landscape, as well as modern systems, including the development of new data feeds and pipelines.
- Conducting in-depth code reviews and driving adherence to best practices across all phases of the software development lifecycle is key responsibility.
- Take a hands-on approach to problem-solving, coding, testing, and debugging as needed to support team delivery and maintain high engineering standards.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement in both technical implementation and team dynamics.
- Mentor, coach, and grow engineering talent within the team while contributing to team structure and hiring strategies.

Qualifications & Technical Skills
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Data Sciences, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 15+ years of active experience in software engineering, development and implementing data integration solutions
- 10+ years of hands-on experience designing and developing/coding solutions for large enterprise systems.
- Proven experience in building and leading engineering teams, with a demonstrated ability to motivate, mentor, and develop engineering talent.
- Hands-on coding and debugging skills, with the ability and willingness to contribute directly to the codebase when necessary.
- Design, implement, and support scalable and maintainable software solutions using a mix of:
- .NET (C#) for enterprise applications and services
- Java for backend logic, integrations, and APIs
- Python for scripting, automation, and data transformations
- UI frameworks like WPF, Angular, and Bootstrap
- RDBMS, SQL, PySpark
- Solid understanding of RDBMS, advanced SQL, and performance tuning & optimization techniques.
- Experience with public cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure, and DevOps tools such as Azure DevOps.
- Exposure to large-scale or distributed systems to drive modernization of existing systems through architectural improvements and refactoring.
- Experience integrating AI agents into data ingestion solutions is a significant plus.
- Familiarity with insurance or reinsurance industry systems is a plus.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
