What You’ll Do
"This role focuses on Sustaining Engineering for GEIS commercial products, including cable trays, wiring management systems, mechanical fittings, gratings, pipe hangers, and seismic bracing—products designed to serve both national and international markets. Key responsibilities include identifying and executing sustaining initiatives, supporting manufacturing plants, addressing customer queries, and driving cost and performance improvements through Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE).The position demands strong communication skills, technical expertise, and enthusiasm for product design. Responsibilities also include ensuring compliance with global design standards such as IEC, UL, NEMA, and other applicable regulations. A solid understanding of industry requirements is essential, along with the ability to perform complete system and component sizing, design, simulation, and testing activities to meet GEIS commercial product specifications, primarily for the U.S. market.""
- Manage multiple programs and projects within Sustaining Engineering to meet business objectives and Profit Plan targets.
- Take complete ownership of projects, including product conceptualization, detailed design, validation, testing, and sustainability initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional, multi-disciplinary teams to make critical technology and engineering decisions for successful project execution.
- Independently design, validate, and release systems, subsystems, and components, as well as lead teams of engineers. Develop CAD drawings, detailed 3D models, and assemblies, ensuring timely release in PLM/ERP systems as per project plans.
- Develop test plans aligned with IEC/UL standards. Define test object requirements, plan assemblies, and finalize test parameters and instrumentation. Conduct tests using standard practices, analyze results, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective/preventive actions in consultation with leads.
- Partner with leads to create Intellectual Property (IP) documentation for new product design concepts and ideas, driving innovation from ideation to execution.
Apply project management processes and tools for planning, effort estimation, and quality management to ensure timely and successful delivery of project outcomes."
