Director of Engineering

Key Responsibilites

Leadership & Team Building

1. Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing engineering team, including

   hiring managers and engineers across multiple sub-teams

   .
2. Establish a strong engineering culture centered around innovation, ownership, and accountability.
3. Provide coaching and career development for engineers and managers.

Product & Delivery

1. Partner with

   Product, Design, and Data Science teams

   to define roadmaps and ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
2. Translate business goals into technical execution plans and deliverables.
3. Ensure scalability, reliability, and performance of voice AI and analytics systems.

Scaling & Execution

1. Drive engineering through different growth phases (

   0 → 1 → 10 → 50 scale

   ), ensuring process and architecture evolve with scale.
2. Define and implement best practices in agile execution, release management, and system observability.
3. Proactively identify bottlenecks and risks and implement mitigation strategies.

Technology & Architecture

1. Provide architectural direction for

   speech analytics, voicebot systems, and insights platforms

   .
2. Oversee integration of AI/ML models (speech-to-text, LLMs, NLP, TTS) into production-grade systems.
3. Balance

   build vs. buy

   decisions to optimize cost, speed, and scalability.

Qualifications & Experience

• 12+ years of industry experience

  , with

  6+ years in engineering leadership roles

  (managing managers and multi-functional teams).
• Proven track record of taking complex platforms/products from

  zero to scale (0 → 1 → 10 → 50)

  .
• Strong experience in

  building distributed systems, real-time data pipelines, or AI/ML-powered products

  .
• Demonstrated ability to

  hire, grow, and retain talent

  at all levels, including managers.
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills; able to work closely with Product, Data, and Business stakeholders.
• Experience in

  Voice AI, speech analytics, conversational AI, or large-scale SaaS systems

  is a strong plus.
• Solid technical foundation in

  cloud (Azure/AWS/GCP), microservices, and modern data/ML platforms

  .
