Job Summary:
Responsible for the installation, creation, monitoring, support, maintenance and optimization of databases; participates in design; ensures secure database access, data integrity and security, as well as manages performance and capacity.Key Responsibilities
Analyzes data on existing databases and makes process improvement and alternative approach recommendations to management. Confers with members of IT organization on recommended database design and implementation. Makes recommendations to inter-disciplinary team to enhance data integrity and security. Facilitates database design and administration meetings for moderately complex projects. Completes all phases of moderately complex database projects. Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems. Coaches less experienced team members on standards, technical solutions and documentation methodologies. Understands database administration Skilled in database applications and standard databases. Ensures database stability and reliability. Guarantees data security by following access and integrity controls. Executes moderately complex database designs. Connects databases to applications and ensures technical integration and database connectivity across increasingly complex platforms and environments. Ensures data integrity and disaster recovery by conducting complex database backups using established procedures. Conducts database restoration in complex environments and time-sensitive situations. Suggests improvements to database backup and restore procedures. Tests complex databases to make certain database functionality meets performance requirements.Responsibilities

College, university, or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related subject, or relevant equivalent experience required. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.Experience

Additional Responsibilities
Administer, monitor, and maintain Oracle and SQL Server databases, both on-prem and in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, OCI).Operationalize and Support database services in RDS, Azure SQL, Exadata, and OCI DBCS with a focus on availability and performance.Automate database provisioning, patching, backup, and configuration using Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.).Participate in incident management, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for database issues.Assist with performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning.Support upgrades, migrations, and patching in a coordinated, documented manner.Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.4-7 years of experience as a Database Administrator managing Oracle and/or SQL Server in highly available production environment.Experience supporting cloud-based databases (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL, OCI DBCS, MongoDB etc).Experience with backup and recovery strategies, high availability, and replication.Strong scripting skills (e.g., Shell, Python, or PowerShell).Preferred Qualifications
Certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), AWS Certified Database – Specialty, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate.Experience with containerized database deployments and Kubernetes is a plus.Job
