Duties and Responsibilities
Key Accountabilities/Kras/Kpis
- Data Engineering & ETL Development (HR/HC Focused)
- Design, build, and maintain ETL pipelines that ingest and transform data from PeopleSoft, HRIS platforms, cloud applications, SQL databases, APIs,
and flat files.
- Develop, schedule, and optimise SSIS / ETL jobs ensuring high availability and zero-defect processing.
- Implement data quality rules, reconciliation checks, audits, and exception frameworks to reduce manual interventions and ensure reliable HR data.
- Data Warehouse & Cube Development
- Design and maintain HR data marts, star schemas, dimensional models, and SSAS Tabular cubes across domains such as Workforce, Headcount, Attrition, Absence, Leave, Payroll, Talent, Rewards, and HR Operations.
- Develop and optimise database objects including tables, views, stored procedures, and functions.
- Perform SQL optimisation, ETL tuning, and cube refresh performance improvements.
- Power BI Data Enablement
- Build certified semantic layers and clean datasets for Power BI dashboards.
- Partner with Power BI developers to resolve model issues, refresh failures, and performance bottlenecks.
- Prepare analytics-ready datasets, including flattened views, calculated tables, and optimised structures for reporting.
- Data Governance & Standards
- Enforce data validation, referential integrity, naming standards, and data lineage practices.
- Maintain clear and complete documentation: data dictionaries, transformation logic, business rules, and Git-based version control.
- Ensure secure handling of sensitive HR data in line with compliance and privacy standards.
- Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with Business Analysts, People Analytics teams, HR Operations, DevOps, and Human Capital leadership to convert HR
requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Participate in sprint ceremonies, impact analysis, and release readiness.
- Proactively reduce technical debt, rework, and production issues.
Mandatory Skills
- Strong SQL / T-SQL development
- Microsoft BI Stack: SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS (Tabular)

- Experience building HR / People Analytics data marts or cubes
- Exposure to Power BI, semantic models, and DAX fundamentals
- Familiarity with Git, DevOps pipelines, and job schedulers
Optional Skills
- Understanding of Power BI development lifecycle
- Python or R for data automation / validation
- Experience with PeopleSoft HR tables or major HRIS (Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM, ADP)
- Knowledge of HR processes: Recruitment, Absence, Payroll, Employee Lifecycle, Attrition, Talent Management.
