Contracts Engineer

Role Overview: As a Buyer - Contracts Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the end-to-end contract lifecycle execution by understanding requirements, identifying pre-qualified vendors, tender preparation, inviting bids, and conducting technical & commercial negotiation in line with company standards aligned to Procurement & Contracting (P&C) objectives and guidelines. Key Responsibilities: - Assist Category / Contract Manager in sourcing critical contracts by selecting and evaluating vendors, planning for assigned items, and preparing contracting plans in compliance with terms and conditions. - Support pre-qualification of vendors by specifying sourcing events and conducting technical validation. - Develop internal cost estimates and float RFQ via digital RFX systems. - Study offers from vendors, prepare comparative statements, and participate in commercial negotiation meetings. - Focus on using technological tools like e-auction and reverse auction to improve efficiency. - Ensure timely generation of Purchase Order (PO) and use the SAP system optimally for cost optimization. - Set up Kick-Off Meeting (KOM) with internal stakeholders and vendors for post-award management. - Participate in vendor site visits and expedite resources as per contract requirements. - Implement change management processes, review claims, and identify areas of dispute amongst vendors. - Engage with vendors regularly to share organizational requirements and work on constraints. - Support Contract Manager in creating the Procurement Strategy and executing overall contracts plan. - Follow relevant policies, processes, and standard operating procedures for consistent contract work. - Keep abreast with leading practices, market trends, and contribute to continuous improvement of procurement systems. Qualification Required: - Bachelor's in Engineering or Technology. - Master's in Business Administration (Desirable). - 4 to 6 years of experience in construction, operations, maintenance, exploration sites, or similar field.
