This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level communications professional wanting to build their strategic communications skills and contribute in a meaningful way.

On a typical day, youll curate and implement outreach plans, lead on creative outputs, and contribute to strategy and messaging all within a collaborative and supportive environment. About the role

This is a key role in the strategic Communications team in India. The selected candidate will join us at an exciting time, as we aim to build-up the team and its portfolio.

Key responsibilities will include:

Content creation (70%)

  • Coordinate and develop engaging content across social media, blogs, videos, and other formats to strengthen our brand presence.
  • Translate knowledge products into accessible stories that connect with diverse audiences and amplify our impact.
  • Manage editorial and project calendars to ensure timely delivery of communications.
  • Curate and execute content plans around key national and international days, enhancing visibility of our mission.
  • Maintain regular posting cadence to amplify our visibility on owned social media platforms like LinkedIn.
  • Champion best practices in social media, including creative repurposing of content for maximum reach. Keep updated on social media good practices and repurposing content in different formats (like carousels).
  • Edit and refine reports, briefs, and publications.
  • Oversee updates to our India webpages and produce social media toolkits that support campaigns and initiatives.
  • Track, analyse, and report on digital performance to inform data-driven improvements.
  • Ensure all communication materials adhere to brand guidelines (logos, colours, messaging), standard templates and tone of voice.
  • Maintain a repository of facts, references, and stories to strengthen messaging.
  • Coordinate content contributions for newsletters on behalf of the India team.


Communication strategy implementation (20%)

  • Plan and maintain India offices visibility through owned social media to amplify our work in the region.
  • Understand India offices communications plans/ strategies, objectives and desired outcomes and co-develop dissemination plans for projects with the Senior Communications Manager.
  • Lead on assigned communications tasks and provide tactical support for key campaign pushes and events.
  • Work in and across key Climate Group programme teams, identify linkages that can be crafted into strong, compelling storytelling.
  • Advise programmes team on communications objectives and tactics where relevant for stronger communications delivery.
  • Support the development of reports, briefings and case studies to augment our knowledge output.
  • Develop outreach material for events and support on event logistics.
  • Be the focal point in coordinating with vendors, including designers, and feed-in ideas for design where relevant.
  • Support the Senior Communications Manager in ensuring adherence to established protocols and procedures and advise India programme teams to retain synergy.
  • Deputise for the Senior Communications Manager, as and when required.

Administration (10%)

  • Ensuring efficient management of logos, images and all digital assets
  • Planning agendas for meetings, writing-up action points and driving those forward
  • Liaise with our global offices, where relevant.
  • Keeping up to date on relevant issues/policies.


About you


You have a drive to tell stories that can make a difference. In this role, youll craft compelling content, lead communications outputs and support strategic communications that inspire action and build community. Were looking for someone who is a team player, can multi-task seamlessly, brings fresh ideas to the table, and has strong analytical and demonstrated storytelling skills to translate complex information into powerful narratives.

Essential:

  • Excellent understanding of integrated, multi-channel communications, including different social media platforms.
  • Excellent written and proofreading skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to process and build-up knowledge and expertise in communicating technical issues relating to climate change.
  • Strong organisational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
  • Proactive, innovative approach and ability to reprioritise in response to changing priorities. Ability to identify where support is needed and comfortable delivering an administrative workload alongside more strategic activity.
  • Good cultural awareness and understanding of how communication approaches may differ depending on target audience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a good team player, with the ability to work independently, as well as effectively with others.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Strong visual design and aesthetics, including experience with Canva and PowerPoint.

Desirable

  • Excellent knowledge of climate change and linked issues.
  • Good knowledge of how large businesses function.
  • Good knowledge of media functioning or contacts in the Indian media.


Our location


You will be employed at our Delhi office and enjoy the benefits of flexible and hybrid working: 2 days in the office and 3 days from home. Occasional travel might be required.

This is a fixed-term 12-month position with the possibility of renewal. The salary offered is ₹6,95,800 to ₹8,50,000 per annum, based on experience.
