Job Summary
- The Technology strategy & Architecture organization are seeking an Cloud Engineer.
- We are looking for smart Engineers who are willing to operate in a diverse environment of legacy and emerging technologies
- Candidates should have a strong working knowledge of cloud service provides such ass such as, AWS, Containers,JBOSS ,Devops and be willing to learn other similar platforms and capabilities..
Key Responsibilities
Strategy
- Understand the bank’s Cloud and DevOps strategy and setting up and provide the environment support to various s applications
Business
- This role requires broad engagement with application delivery teams across the bank, helping them to setup and provide environment support
Processes
- Understand the bank’s software delivery processes and implement solutions in line with the bank’s compliance and security requirement.
People & Talent
- Work collaboratively with a team of diverse engineers in sprint delivery. Produce technical documentation and prepare training materials on the solutions being delivered and provide technical support. Conduct briefing and/or training sessions to application delivery teams to help them get onboarded and accelerate adoption.
Risk Management
- Understand bank’s risk management framework and embed that into the technology solution being delivered.
Governance
- Understand bank’s software delivery & quality assurance framework and assist in solutioning in respective governance activity.

- Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
- Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. Qualifications

The Hard
- 15+ years of proven experience with multiple CSPs, including AWS and Azure, and azure devops
- Managing container platforms
- Proficiency in JBOSS is desirable.
- Managing storage solutions for virtual database files, hard disks, application data,
- Securing data from unauthorized access.
- Ensuring data backups for restoration.
- Setup/Managing Linux Servers on CSP’s ( EC2, EBS, ELB, SSL, Security Groups, RDS and IAM).
- Creating/Managing AWS buckets on S3, maintaining life cycle policy and hosting static websites.
- Creating/Managing AMI/Snapshots/Volumes, Upgrade/downgrade AWS resources (CPU, Memory, EBS).
- Setup/Managing VPC, Subnets; make connection between different zones; blocking suspicious ip/subnet via ACL.
- Proficiency in Linux system administration skills
Skills And Experience
- Hands-on experience in Cloud services such as AWS, Azure and Devops
- Hands-on experience
- Hands-on development experience with any one of the programming language - Python
- Experience in DevOps with exposure to CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git, Ansible is desirable
- Experience with Unix host operating systems, scripting (Bash/Shell)is desirable
- Experience with Middleware technologies such as JBOSS
