Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Role Overview

Technical Leadership (≈40 %)

•Own the technical vision and architecture for the platform and bespoke solutions.

• Make high‑impact build/buy/accelerate decisions and communicate trade‑offs to non‑technical stakeholders.

• Establish engineering best practices, SDLC, coding standards, observability and security baselines.

Hands‑on Development (≈40 %)

• Write production‑grade code across the stack (Python / Django & React).

• Design, experiment with and fine‑tune GenAI/RAG pipelines (Haystack, LangChain, LlamaIndex).

• Set up CI/CD, IaC and automated testing from day 1.

Team Building & Ops (≈20 %)

• Recruit, mentor and eventually manage a small, high‑leverage engineering team.

• Coordinate sprint planning, roadmap grooming and cross‑functional communication with Product & Customer teams.

• Drive vendor, cloud and budget decisions to optimise burn vs. velocity.

Required Qualifications

Experience

• 5 + years designing and shipping production systems in

  Python & Django

  .
• 5 + years building modern SPAs with

  React (or similar)

  and TypeScript.
• Proven record of end‑to‑end ownership of at least one green‑field product from MVP to post‑launch iteration.
• Strong background in

  Generative AI / LLM engineering

  – retrieval‑augmented generation, prompt orchestration, embeddings, model fine‑tuning.
• Deep familiarity with

  CI/CD, IaC (Terraform/CDK/pulumi), containerisation (Docker/K8s)

  and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).

Mindset & Soft Skills

• Operates autonomously; comfortable making 0‑to‑1 architectural calls under uncertainty.
• Clear, persuasive communicator who can translate between technical depth and business value.
• Builder’s mentality with an eye for pragmatic MVPs, rapid iteration and measured technical debt.

Nice‑to‑Have

• Prior experience in a B2B SaaS startup or marketplace.
• Exposure to WhatsApp Business / conversational‑AI ecosystems.
• Past leadership of a distributed or hybrid engineering team.
