Position Overview

Sanctory is seeking a highly motivated Category Manager to join our team. This role is ideal for an MBA candidate with a strong background in business strategy, market analysis, and growth initiatives. This Role will give an opportunity to work closely with senior leadership to shape our expansion strategy, manage the product categories, refine our go to-market approach, and identify opportunities for scaling our business. 


Key Responsibilities


Category Strategy:

  • Develop and execute category plans aligned with overall business objectives. 
  • Analyze market trends, customer insights, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities.  

Assortment Planning:

  • Define and manage the optimal product range.  

Supplier Management:

  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.  
  • Negotiate terms, pricing, and promotional support.  
  • Manage supplier performance and compliance.  

Pricing & Promotions:

  • Develop competitive pricing strategies in line with margin targets.  
  • Plan and execute promotional campaigns to drive traffic and increase sales.  

Performance Analysis:

  • Monitor category performance using KPIs (e.g., sales, margins, stock turn, and waste).  
  • Use data to drive continuous improvement and optimize category performance.  

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with marketing, operations, supply chain, and store teams to execute category plans effectively.  
  • Research and apply best practices from established retail and lifestyle brands that align with Sanctory’s values.  

 

Prerequisites

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate insights into actionable strategies.  

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of working with senior stakeholders.  

• At least 1-2 years of experience in luxury retail, premium consumer goods, strategy consulting, or growth-focused roles is preferred.  

• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.  

• Proficiency in market research methodologies, financial modelling, and strategic planning tools.  

• A deep appreciation for artisanal, high-quality products and consumer behaviour within niche markets.
