Job Description

The role will own the Category P&L performance & ensure market share growth and product portfolio profitability. To ensure new product development (NPD) success rate & gross margin improvement. Enhance consumer and channel partner satisfaction through competitive product positioning and campaign effectiveness.


1. Product Strategy & Value Proposition:

Define the product value proposition for all sub-brands and SKUs under the category, ensuring alignment with consumer needs, market opportunities, and business objectives.


2. Market & Consumer Insights:

Conduct in-depth market, channel, and consumer research to identify category tailwinds, emerging trends, and opportunity areas. Leverage insights for product planning, business forecasting, and marketing campaigns.


3. Product Development & Lifecycle Management:

Collaborate with the R&D and Production teams to design, develop, and introduce products in line with market demands. Manage the product lifecycle, from concept to commercialization, ensuring continuous portfolio enhancement.


4. Cross-Functional Coordination:

Work closely with internal teams such as Warehousing, Factory, Trade Marketing, Planning, and Logistics to ensure product availability, resolve operational bottlenecks, and gather market feedback for continuous improvement.


5. Pricing & Margin Management:

Define pricing strategies for the category based on market dynamics, cost structures, and competitive benchmarking. Monitor and analyze gross margins, driving initiatives to improve profitability.


6. Brand Direction & Positioning:

Set the strategic direction and market positioning of the brand and sub-brands within the category, ensuring alignment with overall business priorities and long-term vision.


7. Marketing & Creative Development:

Oversee the creative development of marketing collaterals across ATL and BTL channels. Ensure consistent and effective messaging to support product launches, campaigns, and brand-building initiatives.


8. Channel & Sales Management:

Lead PAN India channel management initiatives, including channel study, product performance analysis, and trade program design. Monitor competitive activities and sales trends to proactively adapt business strategies.


Requirements:

  1. MBA in Marketing/Business Management or equivalent
  2. 10–15 years of relevant experience in category management, product management, or brand management, in relevant industry like Inverters, HUPS, Power solutions.
