Job Summary

Carbon Credits Trading, Sales & Marketing Specialist

Key Responsibilities

  1. Carbon Credits Trading

    :
  • Oversee and manage the trading of carbon credits in voluntary and compliance markets.
  • Monitor market trends, pricing, and regulatory changes affecting carbon credits.
  • Identify and engage with buyers and sellers/project developers of carbon credits to optimize trade opportunities.
  • Develop and execute trading strategies to maximize profitability and mitigate risks.

    1. Sales & Marketing

      :
    • Drive sales efforts to expand the company’s carbon credits portfolio, other instruments such as I-REC, Water Credits etc. and their active market presence.
    • Identify potential clients in various industries (e.g., manufacturing, energy, transportation, new technologies) seeking carbon offset solutions.
    • Identify and position with strategies for new mechanisms such as Article 6.2, 6.4. etc.
    • Develop and present tailored carbon offset and sustainability packages to clients.
    • Create marketing materials, case studies, and sales presentations to promote carbon credits and sustainability services.
    • Build long-term relationships with corporate clients, NGOs, and governmental agencies involved in carbon offsetting.
    1. Client Relationship Management

      :
    • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing advice on carbon market trends and carbon credit acquisition strategies.
    • Support clients in achieving their sustainability and ESG targets through carbon credit purchases and offset projects.
    • Conduct periodic reviews of portfolios and offer recommendations to enhance carbon credit trading performance.


    1. Market Research & Strategy Development

      :
    • Conduct research on carbon markets, sustainability trends, and emerging opportunities in renewable energy projects, Industrial sector, Nature Based Solutions, etc.
    • Stay updated on global regulations and policies influencing carbon credit markets (e.g., ETS, CDM, VCS, Gold Standard, CERCARBONO etc.).
    • Collaborate with internal teams to refine and improve the company’s sales and marketing strategies based on market feedback.
    • Involve and provide strategic inputs related to new areas such as Plastic Credits, Water Credits, etc.
    1. Compliance and Reporting

      :
    • Ensure all trading activities comply with relevant regulations, standards, and reporting guidelines.
    • Prepare regular reports on trading performance, sales metrics, and market trends.
    • Provide insights on market risks and opportunities, along with forecasts for carbon credit demand.



    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Energy, Environmental Science, Business, Marketing, Economics, or related fields (Master’s preferred).
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Sales & Marketing, out of which a min of 3+ years of experience is required in carbon markets, carbon credits trading, or environmental commodities trading.
    • Strong knowledge of carbon credit mechanisms, carbon offset markets, and sustainability trends.
    • Proven experience in B2B sales, marketing, or business development, preferably in carbon credits or sustainability-related industries.
    • Excellent understanding of carbon credit standards and schemes (e.g., VCS, Gold Standard, CDM, REDD+).
    • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
    • Analytical mindset with the ability to track market trends and adapt trading strategies accordingly.
    • Familiarity with basics of GHG reduction methodologies, carbon accounting, and climate change policies is a plus.

    Additional or Preferred Skills

    • Experience with carbon offset project development (e.g., renewable energy, reforestation, energy efficiency etc.)
    • Proficiency in CRM software, marketing automation tools, and trading platforms.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple clients, and meet sales targets.

    Total Work Experience required : 10 years
