Role Overview

Business Development Manager


The ideal candidate has a proven track record in project bidding, client communication, and proposal development for technology consulting or IT service projects.


Key Responsibilities

1. Business Development & Lead Generation

  • Identify potential clients and opportunities across freelancing platforms (Upwork, Freelancer, Fiverr) and government/commercial tendering portals.
  • Research and evaluate new leads, RFPs, and RFQs aligned with Bhalekar Consulting’s service offerings.
  • Maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities through consistent outreach and follow-ups.

2. Project & Tender Bidding

  • Prepare compelling proposals, quotes, and technical documentation for project bids.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to understand scope, pricing, and delivery capabilities.
  • Manage the entire bidding cycle — from opportunity identification to submission and negotiation.
  • Track tender announcements, evaluate eligibility, and coordinate submission requirements.

3. Client Communication & Relationship Management

  • Act as the first point of contact for new and prospective clients.
  • Conduct online meetings, presentations, and follow-ups to convert opportunities into projects.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients to ensure repeat business.

4. Market Research & Reporting

  • Conduct research on emerging trends in AI, Data Engineering, and Digital Transformation.
  • Prepare regular business reports, win/loss analyses, and strategy updates for leadership.
  • Provide insights on competitors, pricing, and market positioning.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of 

    Upwork, Freelancer, and tendering platforms

    .
  • Excellent communication, proposal writing, and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of 

    Digital Transformation, Data, and AI services

     is a strong advantage.
  • Goal-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 3–7 years of experience in 

    business development or bidding roles

     within the IT or consulting industry.
  • Proven success in 

    freelancing platform sales

     and 

    tender bidding

     for technical projects.
  • Familiarity with international client engagement, especially Australia, UK, and US markets.
