Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager with a solid background in e-commerce software sales and in-depth knowledge of inventory management, order management, and payment management systems. This role requires you to identify new business opportunities, develop strategic sales plans, and forge lasting relationships with clients to drive revenue growth. You will collaborate closely with sales, product, and technical teams to tailor software solutions that meet clients’ operational needs and help them optimize their e-commerce processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities specifically within the e-commerce software market, targeting clients who require inventory, order, and payment management solutions.
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies that align with company goals to increase market share and revenues.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients, understanding their software needs related to e-commerce operations.
  • Conduct product presentations, demos, and customized proposals that highlight the benefits of our e-commerce software solutions.
  • Collaborate with product development and technical teams to ensure client requirements are well understood and incorporated.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies in inventory, order, and payment management.
  • Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences to network, gather market intelligence, and promote the company’s offerings.
  • Prepare sales forecasts, reports, and pipeline management documents to track progress and optimize performance.
  • Mentor and train junior sales staff to enhance team capabilities and improve overall sales effectiveness.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Computer Science, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
  • Proven experience (3+ years) in business development or software sales, preferably in the e-commerce sector.
  • Strong understanding of e-commerce operations including inventory management, order fulfillment processes, payment gateways, and related software systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful sales strategies and close complex deals.
  • Proficiency with CRM software (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.), Microsoft Office Suite, and sales analytics tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and engage technical teams in customer-focused solutions.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, market trends, and customer feedback to drive informed decisions.
  • Self-motivated, result-oriented, and capable of working independently as well as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience selling SaaS (Software as a Service) products or enterprise software solutions.
  • Familiarity with API integrations, inventory/order management platforms (e.g., Shopify, Magento, Oracle NetSuite), and payment processors (e.g., Stripe, PayPal).
  • Knowledge of digital marketing and SEO principles as they relate to e-commerce growth.
  • Ability to manage complex sales cycles with multiple stakeholders.
