Business Development Manager - Stocks & Investment (Chennai)

We are seeking a driven and results-oriented Business Development Manager to spearhead the growth and operational excellence of our Chennai branch. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 months of hands-on experience in branch administration, coupled with a strong understanding of stocks, investment products, and the Angel One trading platform. This role is critical for expanding our market presence, optimizing branch operations, and fostering client relationships in the dynamic financial landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the day-to-day administrative functions of the branch, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
• Implement and enforce company policies and procedures to maintain compliance and operational integrity.
• Manage branch resources effectively, including inventory, facilities, and administrative support.
• Ensure all client documentation and records are accurately maintained and compliant with regulatory standards.

Business Development & Sales:

• Develop and execute strategic plans to drive branch growth, focusing on client acquisition and revenue generation for investment products, particularly stocks and mutual funds.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including client outreach, local marketing initiatives, and community engagement.
• Collaborate with sales teams to set and achieve sales targets for Demat accounts, trading volumes, and investment products.

Client Relationship Management:

• Foster strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
• Act as a point of contact for escalated client inquiries and provide solutions related to investment services and the Angel One platform.
• Educate clients on various investment opportunities, market trends, and the functionalities of the Angel One app/web platform.

Team Leadership & Support:

• Provide administrative guidance and support to branch staff, ensuring they are equipped to handle operational tasks efficiently.
• Assist in training and onboarding new team members on branch procedures and company policies.
• Monitor branch performance metrics and prepare regular reports for senior management, identifying areas for improvement and growth.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 months of hands-on work experience in branch administration or a similar operational leadership role within a financial services environment.
• Demonstrable knowledge of stocks, mutual funds, and various investment instruments.
• Proficient understanding and practical experience with the Angel One trading platform.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and team members.

Other Relevant Skills:

• Basic understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
• Ability to analyze data and interpret performance metrics to drive operational efficiency and business growth.
• Problem-solving attitude with the ability to handle administrative challenges effectively.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM software.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and target-oriented with a strong work ethic.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Commerce, or a related field preferred. Relevant certifications in financial markets (e.g., NISM certifications) are a strong plus.
