Job Description

Role Summary The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying growth opportunities, acquiring new clients, managing key accounts, and driving revenue through strategic partnerships, tenders, and consulting engagements. The role involves working closely with technical, finance, and leadership teams to expand the company’s presence in infrastructure, government, and private sector projects. Key Responsibilities 1. Business Growth & Strategy Identify and develop new business opportunities in infrastructure, consulting, and advisory services Prepare and execute business development strategies aligned with company goals Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and sector mapping 2. Client Acquisition & Relationship Management Generate leads and convert them into long-term clients Build and maintain strong relationships with government departments, PSUs, private developers, and partners Represent the company in meetings, conferences, and networking events 3. Tendering & Proposal Management Track and evaluate tenders, EOIs, and RFPs (State/Central Government, PSU, GeM, PPP) Coordinate with internal teams for preparation and submission of technical and financial proposals Ensure compliance with tender requirements and timelines 4. Sales & Revenue Management Lead negotiations on commercial terms and contracts Achieve revenue and growth targets Prepare sales forecasts, MIS reports, and pipeline reviews 5. Partnerships & Alliances Identify and onboard strategic partners, JV partners, and consultants Manage MoUs, NDAs, and collaboration agreements Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Management, or related field MBA (Marketing / Strategy) preferred 5–10 years of experience in business development, sales, or consulting (infrastructure/government sector preferred) Key Skills & Competencies Strong understanding of infrastructure, consulting, EPC, and government procurement Expertise in tendering, bidding, and proposal preparation Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills Financial acumen (pricing, costing, margin analysis) Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM tools Strategic thinking with execution focus Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) New business revenue generated Number and value of successful bids Client acquisition and retention rate Pipeline conversion ratio Strategic partnerships developed Preferred Experience Experience working with State/Central Government departments, PSUs, Urban Local Bodies Exposure to PPP projects, consultancy services, and startup ecosystem Knowledge of GeM portal and government e-procurement platforms
