Job Description

A Business Development Manager in the glazing and facade industry is a target-oriented professional responsible for driving sales and securing high-value projects involving aluminium fabrication, glass work, and unitized panel systems. The role requires a blend of strategic sales skills, technical understanding, and strong networking within the construction ecosystem.  Key Responsibilities Market Research & Strategy: Conduct market research to identify potential clients, industry trends, and competitor activities in the facade sector. Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and expand market share. Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders, including architects, contractors, builders, real estate developers, and façade consultants. Understand their project requirements and propose tailored solutions. Lead Generation & Sales: Generate qualified leads through networking, cold calling, trade shows, exhibitions, and industry events. Manage the entire sales cycle, from prospecting to quotation, negotiation, and order closure. Technical Presentation & Proposal: Prepare and deliver compelling technical and commercial presentations and proposals for projects involving unitized glazing, semi-unitized glazing, curtain walls, and other cladding systems. The ability to read and interpret architectural drawings is often required. Collaboration & Coordination: Work closely with internal teams (design, estimation, engineering, and project execution) to ensure that client requirements are met and projects are delivered seamlessly. Reporting & Analysis: Monitor and report sales performance, maintain accurate records of sales activities and pipelines in CRM systems, and provide feedback to management regarding market demands.  Qualifications & Skills Education: A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Business Administration, or a related field is typically required, with an MBA in Sales/Marketing often an added advantage. Experience: Proven experience in B2B or project sales, specifically within the building materials, construction, or facade industry, is essential. Technical Knowledge: A strong understanding of façade systems, aluminium profiles, glass types, and hardware is necessary to engage in technical discussions with clients. Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills are crucial. The role also demands strong strategic thinking, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently in the field. Tools: Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software is typically expected.
