Asst. Manager Production

Experience

• 8–15 years of supervisory experience in a sheet metal fabrication environment handling team of fabricators, fitters, welder, technicians & helpers.

Educational Background

• Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or related field.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop, monitor, track and execute daily and weekly production plans based on job orders and within deadlines given by the PPC team.
• Responsible for manpower and materials.
• Overall superinendence for other resources like quality, maintenance, utilities, facility, and security.
• Analyze production workflows and accordingly implement improvements to increase productivity and reduce waste.
• Take ownership of the shift’s output, rejects, and incidents.
• Implement lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement practices on the shop floor.
• Interpret technical drawings and specifications for fabrication jobs and trouble shoot where necessary.
• Supervise technicians on Welding machine / CNC Bending / Turret Punch / Buffing / CNC Laser Cutting machines & Machine shop.
• Collaborate with the Quality team to ensure products meet quality standards and customer requirements.
• Support root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for production issues.
• Coordinate with maintenance for preventive and breakdown maintenance of machines.
• Coordinate with planning, design, and quality teams to align production with customer requirements.
• Maintain accurate production records, reports, and performance metrics.
• Generate reports on productivity, downtime, rejection rates etc.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations in the production area.
• Promote a safe working culture on the shop floor.

• Promote a safety-first culture, encouraging workers to report hazards and near-misses.

Required Knowledge & Abilities

• Sound knowledge of sheet metal processes: Cutting (laser/punch), CNC Lathe, VMC, Shearing, Rolling, bending, welding, grinding & buffing (polishing) machines.
• Proficiency in reading technical drawings (AutoCAD/SolidWorks knowledge preferred).
• Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and production planning tools.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Hands-on experience with lean tools (Kaizen, 5S, TPM, etc.) is a plus.
• Knowledge of instrumentation & controls will be added advantage.
• Knowledge of ASME code, PED, welding codes preferred.
• Ability to lead by example, enforce discipline, but also earn workers' respect.
• Encourages teamwork and cooperation among workers.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹70,000.00 - ₹90,000.00 per month
