• Oversee/undertake TDS compliances, Advance tax computations, Tax Audits, ITR Filling, and Audit related requirements in consultation with the advisors/seniors.
• Manage and oversee all aspects of direct tax litigation cases, including preparation, filing, and representation before tax authorities and appellate authorities.
• Develop and implement effective litigation strategies to mitigate tax risks.
• Conduct legal research and analysis on tax issues, providing insights and recommendations to internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with external legal counsel and consultants as needed to support litigation efforts
• Keep abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations, providing guidance and training to internal teams as necessary.
• Review and analyse tax notices, assessments, and rulings, identifying areas for potential dispute resolution.
• Maintain accurate records of litigation proceedings, correspondence, and documentation.
• Liaise with tax authorities and other regulatory bodies to resolve disputes and address compliance issues.
• Provide timely updates and reports to senior management on the status of litigation matters and potential risks.
• Ensure timely and accurate filing of GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, GSTR-9C and such other filings as may be required from time to time in consultation with the advisors.
• Preparation / review of monthly reconciliation of:
- Purchase Register and GSTR-2A / GSTR-2B for taking necessary input credit in GST return and follow-up with the operations team to get the vendors to file GST returns and payment of their GST liability to avail proper credit
- Income, GST liability and Input credit reported in books with returns/electronic cash ledger/electronic credit ledger and working file;
- Reconciliation of Turnover as per books vs returns.
• Regular follow up with the operations/business team to ensure that difference in the GST database and invoices accounted for are solved.
• Review of the notices received from the GST authorities, collating details, preparing the submissions and representation before the GST Officer.
• Review of the orders passed by the GST authorities and filing of the appeals before the Appellate Commissioner.
• Representation before the Appellate Commissioner.
• Overseeing the registration of new place of business under GST, addition/deletion of the place of business in the existing GST registration, etc.
• Ensure that necessary entries with respect to GST liability, input credit availment, utilisation, etc. on monthly basis are appropriately passed in books of accounts.
• Collaborate with the accounts team to incorporate tax implications into financial statements.
• Prepare and review tax-related disclosures for financial reports.
• Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure the organization's compliance.
