Job Description


Summary/Objective:

The Asst. Manager – Finance and Accounts is responsible for managerial duties on a professional level and works closely with House of Spices Inc., Senior Management and staff in supporting designated geographic regions. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas of House of Spices Inc., India: Responsible for entering account data, assisting the finance department.


Essential Functions

  1. Sound knowledge of AR, AP, GL accounting, and inventory management.
  2. Strong understanding of month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  3. Demonstrate advanced knowledge of Excel functions and formulas.
  4. Ability to create complex spreadsheets for financial analysis and reporting.
  5. Experience in handling statutory audit would be a requirement.
  6. Preparing monthly balance sheet, income statement and performing variance analyses.
  7. Maintaining balance sheet account reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.
  8. Control over Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Tax Financial, and Management Accounting functions and ensure accuracy
  9. Preparing financial reporting including monthly financial reporting, budgeting & forecasting, and all statutory financial reporting
  10. Preparing the cash flow of the company and ensuring it has the appropriate treasury controls.
  11. Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
  12. Responsible for analysis of product costs, inventories, cost reduction opportunities and manufacturing variance.
  13. Assisting in the design and preparation of budgets for review by management.
  14. Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close processes.
  15. Employee payroll processing ensuring compliance with statutory deductions and returns.
  16. Ability to collaborate with upper management to organize, plan and achieve company financial goals
  17. Intercompany accounts and reconciliations
  18. Bank entries and bank reconciliations
  19. Vendor reconciliation
  20. GL reconciliations on monthly basis

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has supervisory responsibilities and also needs to does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.


Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers and smartphones.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 10.00 am to 6.30 pm . 11:30 am to 8 pm Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.


Travel

No travel is expected for this position.


Required Education and Experience

  1. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting & Finance and an MBA in Finance/CA Intermediate or equivalent qualification with at least Eight to Ten years of related experience

  2. Eight to Ten years of related experience
  3. Reliable and detail oriented.
  4. Excellent communication and people skills.
