Job Description

Role Overview


The Assistant General Manager – Finance will lead and oversee critical financial functions including payroll, MIS, and CSR finance management. The role demands strategic planning, compliance, process optimization, and team leadership to ensure accuracy, transparency, and alignment with organizational objectives.


Key Responsibilities

1. Payroll Oversight

Supervise end-to-end payroll processing and ensure accuracy and timeliness.

Monitor compliance with statutory requirements (PF, ESI, Gratuity, TDS, PT, etc.).

Approve payroll reconciliations, accounting entries, and audit trails.

Drive payroll automation and process efficiency improvements.


2. Management Information System (MIS)

Lead preparation of timely and accurate MIS reports (monthly, quarterly, annual).

Provide financial insights, variance analyses, and cost-benefit recommendations.

Enhance MIS systems with dashboards and automation for management decision-making.


3. Budgeting & Financial Planning

Assist annual budgeting and periodic forecasting exercises.

Monitor utilization and control variances against approved budgets.

Provide financial modeling and business insights for strategic planning.


4. CSR Finance Management

Ensure CSR financial activities comply with Companies Act, 2013 and CSR policy.

Oversee allocation, utilization, and reporting of CSR funds.

Liaise with Operations team & sales team to ensure complete documentation and accounting closure.


Leadership & Team Management

Mentor and guide the finance team across payroll, MIS and CSR.

Foster a culture of compliance, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Ensure smooth coordination with HR, Legal, CSR, Audit, and Operations teams.


Key Skills & Competencies


Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

ERP (Sage) and advanced Excel/financial modeling expertise.

Strong stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration abilities.


Qualifications & Experience

Chartered Accountant (CA) / MBA (Finance).

8–13 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 2–3 years in leadership.

Prior exposure to CSR finance management in a corporate environment preferred.
