Job Description – Assistant Financial Officer (Automobile OEM) Position: Assistant Financial Officer Department: Finance & Accounts Industry: Automobile OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) Experience: 5–10 years Location: Amit Engineers, A 95/96, H Block, MIDC, Pimpri Chinchwad, Pune. Reporting To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)   Role Summary The Assistant Financial Officer will play a critical role in managing the company’s financial health by overseeing accounting, taxation, compliance, and financial planning activities. The incumbent will ensure statutory compliance, support cost optimization initiatives, and provide accurate financial insights to aid strategic decision-making in alignment with the organization’s objectives.   Key Responsibilities (KRAs) 1. Accounting & Reporting Ensure timely and accurate preparation of books of accounts as per IND-AS/IFRS. Oversee monthly/quarterly/year-end closing, consolidation, and finalization of accounts. Prepare and present MIS reports, financial statements, and performance dashboards. 2. Taxation & Compliance Manage all direct and indirect tax compliances including GST, TDS, Income Tax, and Transfer Pricing. Ensure timely filing of tax returns and handling of assessments/queries from authorities. Coordinate statutory, internal, and tax audits ensuring compliance with regulations. 3. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Assist in preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans. Conduct variance analysis and recommend corrective measures. Monitor working capital, fund flow, and cash management. 4. OEM-Specific Financial Management Manage project costing, capex approvals, and vendor/contract financial evaluations. Work closely with production, procurement, and supply chain teams for cost control. Ensure profitability analysis for OEM contracts and product pricing strategies. 5. Risk & Controls Identify financial risks and implement effective internal controls. Strengthen governance and compliance frameworks. Support CFO in strategic initiatives and business transformation projects.   Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Accuracy and timeliness of monthly/quarterly/yearly financial closing. 100% statutory and tax compliance without penalties. Achievement of budget vs. actual variance within acceptable limits. Effective cash flow management and reduction in working capital cycle. Timely completion of audits without major observations. Contribution to cost savings and profitability improvement initiatives.   Qualifications & Skills Chartered Accountant (CA) / Cost Accountant (CMA) / MBA (Finance). 5–10 years’ relevant experience in Finance & Accounts, preferably in Automobile / Manufacturing sector. Strong understanding of accounting standards, taxation, and compliance laws. Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and advanced Excel.
