Job Description

Position Overview We are seeking a dynamic and result-oriented Area Sales Manager (ASM) to drive sales and market penetration of APL Apollo TMT Bars within the assigned territory. The ASM will be responsible for managing dealer networks, driving channel expansion, achieving sales targets, and building strong relationships with contractors, builders, and distributors to strengthen the APL Apollo TMT brand presence. Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Business Development Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for TMT bars in the assigned area. Expand market share by onboarding new dealers, distributors, and retailers. Conduct regular visits to markets, dealers, and construction sites to generate demand. Channel Management Build and maintain strong relationships with dealers, stockists, and channel partners. Monitor dealer performance, ensure timely lifting, and resolve channel conflicts. Implement company schemes, discounts, and promotional offers effectively. Market Intelligence Track competitor activities, pricing, and market trends. Provide feedback to management regarding new opportunities and challenges. Analyze sales data and prepare reports on performance and potential growth areas. Brand Promotion Organize contractor meets, mason meets, and promotional activities. Collaborate with marketing teams for local branding initiatives. Ensure visibility of APL Apollo TMT bars through effective branding at dealer points. Operations & Collections Coordinate with logistics to ensure smooth supply chain and timely deliveries. Monitor outstanding payments and ensure timely collections. Maintain compliance with company policies on credit, CN/DN, and dealer agreements. Key Skills & CompetenciesStrong experience in steel/TMT/cement/construction materials industry. Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills. Proven track record of achieving sales targets and expanding dealer networks. Ability to work under pressure and travel extensively across the assigned territory. Data-driven approach with good knowledge of MS Excel/CRM tools. Qualifications & ExperienceGraduate in Business/Commerce/Engineering (MBA preferred). 5–8 years of experience in TMT Bars / Steel / Cement / Building Materials sales. Local market knowledge and strong network with dealers/contractors will be an advantage.
