About The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced sales leader to own the agency channel for a fast-paced insurance organisation. You will be responsible for recruiting, enabling, and leading direct agency teams to acquire customers, cross-sell products, and consistently exceed sales targets while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.Role & Responsibilities
  • Drive end-to-end agency channel performance: set targets, build territory plans, and deliver monthly/quarterly revenue & new business KPIs.
  • Recruit, onboard and coach high-performing agents and sales supervisors; implement structured training and incentive programmes to accelerate productivity.
  • Execute distribution strategies to increase reach and conversion—focus on lead allocation, SOA, cross-sell, renewal conversions, and persistency improvement.
  • Manage field operations and stakeholder relationships (branch managers, agency leaders, third-party partners) to optimise TAT and agent satisfaction.
  • Use CRM and MIS to monitor pipeline, forecast sales, track commission payouts, and prepare weekly/monthly performance reports for senior leadership.
  • Ensure strict adherence to IRDA and internal compliance standards; lead audits, KYC checks and quality assurance for agent-sourced business.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience managing agency channel sales in the insurance sector with proven target achievement.
  • Strong track record in agent recruitment, onboarding, and field coaching; experience managing teams of agents and supervisors.
  • Deep understanding of insurance products (life, health or general), commission structures and persistency drivers.
  • Proficiency with CRM tools and Excel-based MIS for forecasting, reporting and incentive calculations.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills; willingness to travel extensively.

Preferred

  • Experience with large-scale agency rollouts, incentive design, and P&L ownership for a sales territory.
  • Familiarity with IRDA guidelines, KYC processes and quality assurance frameworks in the Indian insurance market.
