Job Description

You will be stepping into the role of Agency Sales Manager (Insurance) in the insurance distribution and agency channel management sector, catering to retail and corporate customers across India. Your primary focus will be on driving agency-led sales, expanding the agent force, and enhancing on-ground distribution to achieve revenue and penetration objectives. Your responsibilities will involve setting targets, devising territory plans, and achieving monthly/quarterly revenue and new business KPIs for the agency channel. You will be entrusted with recruiting, training, and leading high-performing agents and sales supervisors while implementing structured training and incentive schemes to enhance productivity. Additionally, executing distribution strategies to enhance reach and conversion rates will be a key aspect of your role, emphasizing lead allocation, cross-selling, renewal conversions, and persistency improvement. Effective management of field operations and stakeholder relationships, such as branch managers, agency leaders, and third-party partners, will be crucial to optimizing Turnaround Time (TAT) and agent satisfaction levels. Ensuring strict compliance with IRDA and internal standards, leading audits, conducting KYC checks, and maintaining quality assurance for agent-sourced business will also fall under your purview. To excel in this position, you must possess at least 4 years of hands-on experience in managing agency channel sales within the insurance sector, demonstrating a track record of achieving targets. Your expertise should include agent recruitment, onboarding, field coaching, and team management. A deep understanding of insurance products, commission structures, and persistency drivers is essential, along with proficiency in CRM tools and Excel-based MIS for forecasting, reporting, and incentive calculations. Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, coupled with a readiness for extensive travel, are also prerequisites. Experience in large-scale agency rollouts, incentive design, and P&L ownership for a sales territory would be advantageous, as would familiarity with IRDA guidelines, KYC processes, and quality assurance frameworks in the Indian insurance market.
