Accountant

Role summaryWe’re looking for a practical, detail-oriented Accountant to run day-to-day bookkeeping, manage GST & taxes, prepare vendor/customer invoices, and help with monthly financial closings so our operations run smoothly. Key responsibilitiesMaintain day-to-day books: vouchers, receipts, purchases, sales, bank entries. Prepare and issue invoices, credit/debit notes and keep customer/vendor ledgers up-to-date. Reconcile bank statements, supplier statements and cashbook daily/weekly. Compute and file GST returns (GSTR) and assist in GST reconciliation. Prepare monthly trial balance, P&L and basic financial summaries for management. Support payroll processing and statutory contributions (PF/ESI) when required. Assist in preparing documents for audits and maintain compliance records. Track receivables/payables, follow up on late payments and help manage working capital. Coordinate with transport/freight team to record freight & logistics costs accurately. Use basic Excel for MIS reports — sales, margins, stock valuation snapshots. Required skills & qualificationsCommerce graduate (B.Com) or equivalent bookkeeping qualification. 1–3 years accounting / bookkeeping experience preferred (freshers with strong aptitude considered). Comfortable with Tally / Busy / Zoho Books / any accounting software. Good Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot, basic formulas). Basic understanding of GST, TDS, and statutory compliances. Good communication — phone & WhatsApp friendly (we use WhatsApp for many vendor/customer interactions). Accurate, punctual, trustworthy, and able to work with invoices/physical documents. Nice-to-have (but not mandatory)Experience in trade / manufacturing / distributor accounting (pipes/civil materials) Exposure to reconciliations for freight, inventory and margin calculations.
