Position: Academics Head

Location: Gurugram

Department: Offline

Reporting to: VP / Senior Director – Offline Business


Role Overview

The Academics Head - ELP (English Language Proficiency) Training at MSM Unify is a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality academic programs that enhance students' proficiency in English for study abroad purposes. This position involves designing curriculum, managing trainers, monitoring training effectiveness, and ensuring student success in achieving target scores in standardized tests like IELTS, TOEFL, and PTE.


Key Responsibilities

• Curriculum Development and Implementation

• Design and continuously update a comprehensive ELP training curriculum tailored for study abroad aspirants.

• Ensure alignment of training modules with the latest formats of standardized tests such as IELTS, TOEFL, and PTE.

• Develop supplementary resources, including mock tests, practice exercises, and study materials.

Trainer Management and Development

• Recruit, train, and mentor ELP trainers to maintain high teaching standards.

• Conduct regular training sessions and workshops to upskill trainers.

• Monitor trainer performance through feedback, student outcomes, and classroom observations.

Student Success and Progress Monitoring

• Ensure students achieve target scores for their chosen study abroad programs.

• Oversee individual progress tracking systems and recommend personalized improvement plans.

• Address student concerns and adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs.


Operational Oversight

• Manage batch scheduling and ensure optimal trainer-student ratios.

• Collaborate with the operations team for seamless integration of academic schedules.

• Ensure adherence to standardized operational procedures in training centers.


Quality Assurance

• Conduct regular audits of training sessions to maintain consistency and quality.

• Gather and analyze student feedback to identify areas of improvement.

• Maintain high satisfaction rates among students through effective academic support.


Reporting and Analysis

• Track key academic performance metrics and share regular reports with senior management.

• Analyze trends in student performance to guide curriculum updates and trainer interventions.


Key Result Areas (KRA)

1. Curriculum Excellence: Maintain up-to-date and effective ELP training modules.

2. Trainer Efficiency: Ensure 100% of trainers meet performance benchmarks.

3. Student Outcomes: Achieve a minimum 85% success rate in students reaching target test scores.

4. Batch Management: Ensure 95% adherence to batch schedules and planned sessions.

5. Quality Assurance: Maintain student satisfaction scores above 90%.


Key Performance Indicators (KPI)

  1. Student Success Rate: Target: 85% of students achieve target scores (IELTS 7+, TOEFL 100+, PTE 65+).
  2. Trainer Performance: Target: 95% of trainers score above 8/10 in performance evaluations.
  3. Batch Timeliness: Target: 98% adherence to the academic calendar.
  4. Resource Utilization: Target: 90% student utilization of mock tests and practice resources.
  5. Feedback Scores: Target: Achieve an average of 4.5/5 in student feedback for training sessions.


Qualifications and Skills

• Master’s degree in English, Education, or a related field.

• 5+ years of experience in ELP training, preferably in a study abroad context.

• Strong expertise in standardized test preparation (IELTS, TOEFL, PTE).

• Proven experience in managing and mentoring academic teams.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to analyze data and implement improvements based on insights.
